1. Given BGM is not the Radio Times and is bought by the mainly informed Bass Player, I just struggle with the 'celebrity coupling'. I mean where was the singer from Slipknot for the last cover? Or Nile Rodgers on the one before?
2. Good to see Dave is recognised as a Bassist in his own right and not just an appendage to Jools....
3. Imagine buying strings and then having to tune it....
4. Ah yes, Will Lee's sister is Sarah Lee, hence the Macarthur Park song.....
5. Quilted prog bass: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_450_qtb_progressivedeko.htm?sid=364e3d2500f22a6ac84324bd65803153
6. Yes, I went for the cheapy but for an extra £5 the padded one looks good.
7. Just done the baking powder and superglue fix twice, as the first time I took too much off with the file. Beauty of these is you can just pull the string to the side behind the E post, then unhook it and no longwinded string winding.
8. My fretted Deco Uke has one slight issue, the bottom D ( and only that note) buzzes. I've wound the truss rod both ways and it appears the A string nut slot is just a tad low. I could make a new nut with some dog bone, do the superglue and baking powder fill of the slot and then recut it, or wedge some curved plastic under the string in the nut......... Guess which?!
9. "I was going to get a Steinberger copy and do a relic sunburst on it just for irony" -would that make it good for Metal?
10. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_kahuna_clu_bass_ukulel_deko_2.htm Deco Uke's, fretless and fretted £36 plus p&p
11. I saw Back Door in1973 and Colin Hodgkinson was doing chordal stuff then.....they all signed me a copy of their album too.
12. 'Preamp has 3x12AX7 tubes. Compressor has 1x12AT7 tube (same as the brilliant Compressore pedal)' I stand (pint in hand and not on amp) corrected!
13. Yes, I always balance a pint of bitter on top of my amps, like to live dangerously....! Think there's only 1 tube in the pre-amp, the rest is solid state.
14. Odd marketing. Why would a Strat player want TS gurning out of their guitar body?
15. The logo can be unstuck with a hair dryer and turned around if necessary. I did it with my Traveller 210 cab which I stacked on the narrow side and LMIII on top.
16. "I have a son to pay for" Is this Madonna under a pseudonym?
17. IMHO the combo or head and 1 cab is loud enough on its own, if you need more than that then just go through the PA. The extra cab gives more presence but does not sound appreciably louder.
18. Been there and done this! Started with LMII and Traveler 210 and 115 cabs. Then upgraded to LMIII with same cabs. Then sold 1115 cab as never used it! Now have CMD121 combo and toying with getting a cheap 121 NY cab. But why as I have a RJ 500 head and 15" cab too.....!? Combo is great value compared with a LIII and separate 121 NY cab.
19. Patent Pending?!!! I think a patent lawyer would be more than happy to take money off someone who 'thought' of this but I doubt if It could be patented.
