1.
My local one never has anything interesting, it's mostly racks and racks of old movies on VHS... Do VHS players even exist anymore? I have no idea how they manage to sell enough stuff to pay for the staff, premises, bills etc.
Next time you are in, take a look around at the punters. Many are what kind people would call 'economically disadvantaged' and they bring in goods to get a loan against and or sell outright. They are charged a hefty % for that and that is how CC make their money. Somewhere on catch-up TV will be a series about CC and the money these branches make, very surprising. I've never seen a cheap/decent guitar in mine and it sounds as if that Sax was wrongly listed: if you try and sell something to them they just go on eBay and see how much the items are listed for and even if new give you around 33% of list.
2.
Is this the Toyota hilux of bass cabs?
and good for floating thumb technique?
3. Maybe just dry it out and sell it on to The Waterboy's Bassist..?
4. Notice Bass Gear have a Nano demo model for £250 at the moment...
5. I was going to suggest a course of antibiotics for the case but I guess it is too late and they will be immune.
6.
Are you sure she's not just calling you a loser?
No, but I do worry when she makes the 'W' symbol....
7. Unfortunately she is unmarried..! But take your point, she makes the 'L' shape with her thumb and first finger as an aid memoir.
8. Dyslexia and the spin offs can be totally disabling and not understood by those who don't have it. I was in the car with my 34 year old daughter over Christmas and when I said "Turn left here" she had to hold her left hand up and use it to help her know which way to turn. Likewise for a right turn.
9.
My dishwasher is a sink (I'm old fashioned like that). I've never tried it previously partially cause I've heard it only revives them for a few days but my current strings are dead and I'm a bit skint really! I live a small flat and I can't say the girlfriend would be happy with the place smelling like methelated spirits. Wouldn't be great for my asthma either I imagine!
Afix a lid on the methylated spirits with strings in container. Job done.
10.
My PJ5 HTR arrived a couple of days ago. Can't see anything wrong with it other than a slight blemish under the laquer. Reserved judgement until I could try it at last nights gig. Original plan was that I was only getting it for the body and neck but after a quick noodle post-soundcheck, change of plan. It is quiet as a mouse, it plays great and sounds fantastic. The "pimping" plan was going to involve, shielding cavity (no need), and just about changing everything. New plan is Wilkinson Vintage bridge and CTS pots, Switchcraft jack and Bobs your Whatsit. I am staggered at the pickups, they sound immense. I was switching from my Carvin/Marlleaux 5 er with a Glockenklang pre-amp to the PJ5 and output wise they are very comparable. Tuners are solid and work well. That might be the only other area that I look at in the future. Happy Bunny.
I'd budget for a new scratchplate. My acid thumb wore away the faux tort on mine in a couple of months. I guess the alternative is to work on your 'floating thumb' technique!
11.
An Alembic Epic, through an MXR M80, into an Orange TB500 and a Laney 4x10... Solved. 😀
So a Bass good for Metal/thrash/punk/crossover then?
12. Great use of scrap wood. Word of advice, only ever do a scarf joint in the winter!
13. Yes, kharma is a bitch. Shirt stroked by 2 blondes, great gig but now nagging doubt about amp.....
14. Yes, welcome to the South West's super information Highway. There's glaciers retreating quicker than my BB

17.
yup, good idea. are you selling yours?! can you make it sound aggressive?
No, I'm not bloody selling it ( was that aggressive enough?) Listen to BigRedX's stuff, think that sounds quite 'up for it'..?
18. The Harley Benton PJ 5 comes up as a deco frequently, less than £50 delivered. Worth the full price too.

A visit to the FX Lounge will reveal chapter and verse! PS I had one but sold it for a MS 60B
20. Yes , you are doing very well: unsurprisingly everyone else has 18/26 now too. 'A' is not known as a Bassist but played on a couple of tracks on their debut 'B' think of an alloy rather than heavy metal 'C' when I said 'back in the day' I could have meant at 'school' 'D' Mickey could be Mouse.. what about other Disney Characters? 'E' Been all over the TV this Christmas 'I' There could be an album title in the original clue 'J' reputedly he recorded some tracks lying on his back 'X' I planned the answer to be Nigel but he got high on....
21. Someone here on a different 'Kick Warwick' thread spoke to the Boss himself, might be worth visiting the thread yourself?
