1.
I got two cans of vintage white nitro and a set of threaded bridge barrels. It's like she read my mind..
I believe 1964 was a good year for White Nitro but I wouldn't touch White Lightening however!
2. Here it is, the Christmas Bassist Names Quiz. Clearly a quick visit to the Search Engine of your choice ( I only use Bing during December!) will yield the answers but it may be more fun to try and work them out from the clues. Equally if they make no sense then a PM or question on the thread will be answered promptly. The name for letter 'X' is firstly that of a Band, hence the 3 letters. The rest 7-5 should be easy Format is Surname First e.g. McCartney Paul A..... ..... Almost 20 when she released her debut (6-5) B….. .... Not in Cast but a Heavy Metaller (6-4) C..... ....... Studied Art and the Pharoes back in the day (6-7) D... .... ...... Didn’t play on Mickey’s Monkey 4-4-6 E........ .... Doctor? You’ll never guess this one (9-4) F... Should really have played on ‘Bad Things’ by Jace Everett (4) G..... ..... Bassist from the Band with 3 letters … (7-5) Y... .... Chintzy subterranean Christmas sounds (4-4) Z..... ...... On the road again (6-6) Maybe rather than posting the completed answers, the first to do so says as much and PM's me thus not spoiling it for the other 3 doing it...
3. The ARF will be posting its 2015 Christmas Quiz just before the 25th, so if anyone is bored of the Queens Speech and the Guns of Navarone, it may provide a welcome diversion.
4.
The Strokes are all extremely "posh" at least as far as this description can be used for Americans.
I'd say however 'it was different Strokes for different folks'
5.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the guys in Genesis and Pink Floyd started their working lives down the pit.

Without wishing to diss anyone, but Phil Collins was born in Hounslow, an area not renowned for 'pit' activity............. Also did drama school ....ditto........ Only middle and upper class people can spot irony...
6. Warwick Star Bass that I have has a solid centre block too and no probs with feedback other than some comment on its appearance.
7. I use a clip-on tuner spun around so it is displayed behind the headstock and virtually invisible to those looking from in front.
8. Hmm, I seem to recognise the business model: buy up old badly set up guitar, set them up and sell them on along with some spiel. However this is BS free and there seems to be some genuine craftsmanship involved and each guitar has a video showing how it was revived. Also all the pickups seem to be at the right angle too!
9. 1. What happened to the last Bassist? 2. What happened to the last Singer? 3. What happened to the last Drummer? 4. Where's the door?
10. Yes, had a look of some her stuff in the States and the same bassist.
11.
Moustachioed guitar legend 'Carlos Santana' only changed his name from 'Carlos Santa' to allow him to work all year round.
Only after he gave up his role in the family banking business.
12. Will the speaker in the school combo be up to it? It's rated 150w at 8 ohm and 300w at 4 ohm and on its own you'll be putting in 300 watts with your LM head and 500w if linked to a NY151?
13. Reacting to accusations that Christmas has just become a multi-national corporation spend -fest, 'Google' Crosby and 'Dave' Bowie have just re-released 'Mini Premier Boy'
14. You'll have to explain the photo a bit, it looks like something from the Turner Prize? Do you keep CD's in a wardrobe on coathangers too?
15. Not sure what you mean by 'the same case'? It has a different colour lining and handle...
16.
The late Sonny Bono was not, in fact, the son of golden-tonsilled U2 frontman Bono. He was his father.
Speaking of golden tonsils, Dutch band 'Golden Earring' were out of work actors before they made it big. They dedicated their first hit to their previous profession, 'Rada Love'
17. Vocoder addict Cher was originally named Chair but was advised to change her name by Tom Barker- Knoll.
18. You got yours yet? Looks like the only ones available to buy in the whole world were in that Italian Music shop!
19.
You, and any customers they may have
You've clearly never visited Lidl on a Thursday, it's like Black Friday except it's not black and, err, not Friday
