In that case, his nail varnish should Shirley be black, neh?
Would need to consult the Goth dress code for FX laden Bassists, anyone know what page it's on? -
The nail varnish makes me feel a bit uneasy (on any chap) but I have to admit to liking the shoes
He was/is a Goth if that helps you? -
[sub]I would think those 3 guys in Tartan Shorts and Platform Shoes would look a sight[/sub]

Backup amp or DI box for use in vocal PA

How skint are you? Does £80 odd quid sound too much? Thomann have a B stock one for £73 plus postage. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/269981-nad-behringer-bvt4500h/ -
I do think the Tech 21 and Darkglass prices sometimes get a little silly, and I own Tech 21 stuff.
Just quoting the Darkglass latest advert for the Microtubes B3K Assembled in Finland (by experienced, fully covered and well paid builders) Expanded Attack switch functionality UK sourced PCB (kept processes in EU, assembled in UK using best components available in market) New Bypass System, spring actuation switch mechanism rated for 1 million cycles Unibody chassis made in Helsinki. carved out of a single aluminium block. Or you could have a pedal assembled in the Far East.........?
HELP NEEDED. Thought I'd ask here first. Does anybody know why Steve Marriott, Kenney Jones, Ronnie Lane and Jimmy Winston decided to call themselves the Small faces? as the average male face width is between 12.8 and 13.2 cms and all four of theirs fall within these parameters. I had previously thought that they may have had some teenage friends with much larger faces thus meaning that their faces were indeed "smaller" but on investigation, this has not turned out to be the case!
Band names can be deceptive. For instance, all the "Fine Young Cannibals" were actually Vegan

This thread is the "gift that keeps on giving". Think I'll come back in a month and see if its still going around in circles!

More 'radioactive' then 'active' from those pics
yorks5stringer replied to Paul S's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
That must be why it's collection only "due to the size and difficulty in packing". Must be hard to wrap something whilst wearing a radiation suit! -
I've one that would fit the bill for sale for pennies(well £75)....http://basschat.co.uk/topic/269839-harley-benton-progressive-5-string-fretless-art-deco-special-edition-l7500/
That's a huge box for what's inside! I would probably buy one as a stationary rehearsal room amp if I had a need for that though.
You could use the space not utilised in the Amp as a rehearsal room!

Thomann selling Harley Benton basses as 'Decoration only'
For info, this is the link that loads the Mobile Site from a PC: https://m.thomann.de...and_basses.html
Thanks, interestingly many are B Stock rather than Decos... -
Just a quick comment re the "made in the same factory as the SVT" rumour, I understood Behringer have invested mega Euros in their own Chinese production facility. There's a video showing it on the Behringer thread elsewhere in this Lounge. Re the Amp, for the Bucks it seems you've got plenty of bangs and a 3 year Thomann guarantee! As a money-saving aside, they have a B stock one at £73!

I saw that Tour, either at the Hammersmith Odeon or Rainbow, absolutely brilliant. -
There is also the matter of economies of scale. Behringer produce many thousands of products each year. Boutique manufacturers produce a few score of products each year. Companies producing thousands of units can sell each unit at a much lower price. Think why supermarkets sell for so much less than a small shop. Simple economics.
Hate to be pedantic, but companies that produce 1000's of units and selling to both supermarkets and corner shops make the item at the same price but due to the Supermarket's purchasing power and loss leaders will sell it cheaper to the Supermarket than the corner shop.

Advice on where to start with looking for a six-string bass
yorks5stringer replied to Naetharu's topic in Bass Guitars
Harley Benton do an active 6 string progressive. I seem to recall Bilbo from this parish got a 7 string HB which he was pretty chuffed with. Other than that Thomann are doing the Ibanez GSR206B-WNF (catchy name) for £251.64 & I think I've seen Andertons selling them at a similar price. Its all pretty astonishing. When I started playing 25 odd years ago it was rare to see a six string this side of a grand.
They had Deco 6 Stringers earlier today for £45!!! -
This. Recycling content is as old as newspapers. Actually older, now that i think of the Old Testament. Everybody is crazy for content atm and will take it from wherever. My big beef is about quality newspapers quoting tweets. The BGM possibility opens up a whole new competitive arena for BC posters - who can get the most outrageous statements past Bluejay and into the mag. I'm going to try a secret code.
On the subject of recycling content I noticed an obvious Press Release from G&L in September's issue telling us about the new Tribute Series Active basses. They had not even converted it from $ to £... Helpful? -
