Mine does that, it's louder when I first start using it but then it seems to be getting quieter everytime I use the push pull
"Yes, they all do that Sir"! -
There isn't really alot I can do... Every time I get a package delivered I go on the track and trace thing and add a comment to the page which is supposed to go to the drivers. It always says the same thing; "PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DELIVER AS I WILL NOT BE AT HOME TO SIGN FOR THE PACKAGE - PLEASE LEAVE AT DEPOT AND I WILL PICK UP" Without fail, everytime this is ignored and my packages are delivered to a random neighbour I've never met... Well apart from the aforementioned elderly greek lady. I've now met her twice when she has signed for packages, even though she has no idea who I am.
Wonder if the Greek lady thinks you are becoming a PITA? -
The nut should just tap off (with a piece of wood to absorb the force inbetween) in the direction of the headstock. Always hand-sand, I've just put a piece of abrasive paper on a level surface, marked the bottom of nut all the way around for height to be removed, and holding the nut level just taken the bottom off the nut by pressing down and rubbing, if that makes sense, checking level regularly. It should not take long, BTW when you re-glue your nut back on, just use a tiny drop of glue and use the strings as clamps to hold it down until set. Either PVA or Superglue is fine, if you use too much glue then the next time the nut is removed it could take a piece of fingerboard or neck with it!
I'll take a look when I get in, I'm probably gonna dismantle it and have a good look while I wait for my tape wounds to come trough from strings direct! you gota be careful when join this thread it can be VERY addictive
I was tempted to swap the bass and treble controls as they seem the wrong way around with Bass closer to the neck than Treble. That said I have not checked if the wiring loom allows...! -

My back plate was the same, and it was the graphite shielding paint they use showing between the back plate itself from inside the cavity. -
If you need to file each and every slot, the easier option is to just take the height off the bottom of the nut, leaving the slots alone. Just make sure you sand the nut on a level surface, maybe marking the height you wish to take off all round the nut. If you just need to file one or two slots then a file corresponding to the width of the string should do the trick! If you are just filing the D and G, buy a welders tip file set from ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281717234055?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Old strings are also quite abrasive and have been used by many. Much more info is in the Repair & Technical Lounge below

Anything by "Spooky Tooth" should go down well....... and in a more helpful mode, how about something with some nice harmonics?
Just as a matter of interest what sort of weight are the Progresiv's? Could someone weigh theirs.
"De-fretted it's 3.9 kg on the bathroom scales and the nut is 45mm wide: B-E is 0.9cm, E-A 0.9cm, A-D 1cm and D-G 1 cm assuming you use Nylon Flats. It does not feel heavy and the body is quite contoured. At the Bridge the string spacing is between 1.6 cm and 1.8 cm depending on which strings! " A 4 string should be lighter. -
Looking again at my black Progresiv I was wanting to make a small adjustment to the intonation. I found there is no longer screw through the saddle. It seems it is fixed. No reason why it can't be changed though I guess.
The intonation screw is a tiny grub screw almost at right angles to the string direction in the movable saddle. It is an interference fit so you loosen it, move the saddle and tighten it back up. A bit fiddly and the grub screw is tiny. The supplied small allen key is provided for said task! You need to move the string to the side as when it is sat in the saddle you cannot see the grub screw! Also at the front of the individual saddle is another grub screw which locks the saddle in place. Again you need to loosen this off to adjust the saddle height and tighten it again, although the string will hold it in place...until you change strings and the saddles all drop out if not tightened up again. It's all a bit of a fiddle, when I de-fretted my Prog it almost took as long to adjust the saddles and intonation as de-fret it due to the fiddly nature of the individual sadddles God forbid you loose a grub screw either! -

Poundshop Mat might do it as long as it does not block any ventilation slots? -
Here's my Harley Benton U-Bass Deco, obtained for £50 including soft case and postage. Unless you take a very close look at it, there are no flaws to speak of and it plays fine. I just have to be careful with my large fingers..

Lightweight Jazz Bass Body :D

I know they say "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder" but "really nice shape"? Yes, it is a quite nice shape for a random lump of wood but not as a Bass. However it is comforting to see the Seller helpfully provides advice re sourcing a neck for it, ensuring the holes are in the correct position. That would be the least of my worries...... -
The seller is having a "Giraffe". £4000 for a replica with no provenance save the paint job was done in the same place as the original? That's like saying a modern P Bass is the same as James Jamerson's 60's one, in that it came from the same maker. Lot's of these replicas around where some cheap Bass or guitar is done up like an original and the seller hopes some [s]dickhead [/s]collector is willing to pay a crazy price for it...
