  1. FWIW my LaBella LTF have red silks but they are shortscale ones.
  2. I remember the Singer Chamois, you washed them with hot water and they dried themselves....
  3. I'm in a Vanilla Ice Tribute Band so just keep my Basses in the freezer....
  4. Not qualified to comment but doubtless you've followed the threads regarding the only Markbass Service Centre that (theoretically) can repair it?
  5. I have a Nordstrand Acinonyx Bass and since fitting it with LaBella low tension flats have found the A string chokes out after around 10 hours of playing. The grub screws in the saddle seem to loosen over time. Nordstrand advise that one ensures the Tuner windings are as low as possible ( check) and the string ballends are located at the very bottom of the bridge (check) but still this happens. The only solution is blue loctite on the grub screws. So my questions for the learned BC collective are: 1. Is this really a thing, can grub screws undo themselves due to sonic forces? 2. Are the low tension flats the issue in that they maybe don't press down enough on the saddle? Oh and the A and D string have a break angle button on the headstock too. Any ideas please?
  6. Just got back from a very hot Cider Barn gig. It's tiny so we had drums across the entrance ( there is a side door ) and the banjo was next to me too so not ideal. 45 minutes into the set my grub screws loosened on the A string saddle and I started to lose notes. Luckily I packed the right size driver and it took me longer to get it out of the gig bagnext to me than wind the screws back up. I've bought some Loctite and need to give them all a tiny drop, hope this sorts them out? Checked with Nordstrand who say the string must be as low down the bridge and tuner peg as possible too ( which they already are). Bit of an annoyance and need to ensure the banjo is across the other side of the stage and me and lead guitar are side by side......
  7. The more recent versions have a light up jack socket, my CMD MM 101 has it from 2019.
  8. Enjoy. To answer your question, the cab is the same size as the earlier versions so I see no reason for the cover not to fit. If you go for a Roqsolid one, you can send them your measurements and they will make to that size but they usually have a pattern with the standard dimensions anyway. Re the DI, it is a pain but whenever I have gone through a PA, the soundy has found the socket and plugged it in, they are used to this model.
  9. Got 2 (all double capacity) Black, 3 Yellow, 2 Magenta , 5 Light Magenta, 3 light Cyan, 4 Cyan. All plastic wrap sealed as new. Free to a good home or even any home....!
  10. Woops sorry, they sent me an email and I C&P'd it without thinking of screen-shotting it, luckily Velarian is much more sensible than me! BTW It was just 'Outlook' that the link sent you to, so not malicious.....
  11. Re the power cut, if only you were named Damo and the Dynamos you could have played.....
  12. Quite a selection of lefties plus some incongruous r/h choices too as shown in the post below!
  13. Sore Finger? Were'nt they signed to Apple Records at one point?
  14. With 6 UK Police forces under 'special measures', I would suspect 'naff all'.......there seems to be a re-occuring theme that when people have reported the scams to the Police, it seems the activity is below the threshold at which they will take action.
  15. but your battery could fall of a cliff.....!
  16. As above, the difference is quite subtle and depends how your amp is set up too ( you are going through an amp...)?
  17. Wow, that bridge looks well screwed in, think of all the tone transference! Seriously, commiserations! I have a Nordstrand Acinonyx which is nice and light and easy to play too. Not cheap but still a proper bass shape.... https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Nordstrand_Acinonyx_Bass.html
  18. Not sure you can call anyone 'baldy' now especially Gary
  19. Have you tried playing it on "Enter the Sandman' first...?
  20. Just been reading about it myself...instant replay?
  21. Define 'Thing' please and I'll let you know...
  22. Well what are all the Markbass critics going to do? 'It's made in Indonesia': actually the new speaker range in made in Italy 'Those neo magnets aren't as good as old school ceramic ones': the new speaker range is ceramic 'It's got yellow speakers': yes, you got me there..... Be interested to know what they have made the enclosures from as they are very lightweight.
  23. Everyone should know it's 1972, when 50 years old. Did I ever mention I have a 1972 Telecaster Bass?
