1. Well commiserations to Sylvia. As a media personality myself, I am well acquainted with the topsy turvy machinations of feeding the fickle public's taste. However nothing prepared me for the horror of this month's Basschat Column in BGM. I can say no more at this juncture but suffice to say, if it was me I would be consulting my team of legal advisors.......
2. Thanks Frank, I'd say you got a bargain at £179. Yes, I don't want to get into MB CMD121 territory as I'd be tempted to get rid of the TTE rig and just run that, but it is a little too big and powerful for home use as I can fit the MicroMark on the window sill for bedroom practice!
3. I currently own a Micromark 801 Combo, an Eden 60 watt Combo and a MarkBass TTE500 Head and 15" Cabinet. For gigs I use the big stuff but recently for rehearsals and some Open Mics and Jams I run, I need something smallish ( because the car is stuffed with PA, Mixers, Stands, Basses etc etc) and the Big Rig is OTT anyway. The Eden has no line out and only 60 watts, The MicroMark is only 45 watts and does have a line out but I find all the Mixer slots are taken up with acoustic guitars and keyboards and Mics anyway. So been looking at mid priced and mid sized combos, up to £300 and ideally for home and gig rehearsal and Open Mic /jams with no DI into PA. Currently there is the Eden EC28 180 watts (on offer at £270), the EBS 120 10" combo c £300, the TC electronic range under £300 with 250 watts and The Ibanez Promethean (10" and 300 watts) under £300. Anyone got experience of these please, especially for 5 strings or are there any other options I have missed? I'd like to keep it small and not go above a 10" speaker....
4.
Bryan Ferry on keyboards?
More like Otis, not Redding.
5. [sub][sub]Sam Foxx, Bruce Foxton and Rufus Hound are recording a version of "Fox on The Run" for the Countryside Alliance.[/sub][/sub]
6.
Odd, they seem to have dispatched my order as two separate packages.
Yes, to avoid issues at the Channel Ports, they separate the bodies and necks now and ship them in different boxes. However full instructions are included to build them back again....
7.
I haven't received a confirmation email yet. So, good luck to, erm, us still waiting on the email.
They know you've been spying on them with all your tricky programmes so I guess they are making you sweat..?
8. Just had confirmation email on the 5 Stringer. So that's one Bass ordered today and a Cab arrived. Busy, busy!
9. Mark Bass Weight 130 gms Size 72mm x72mmx 90 mm Looks like I'll have to get a bigger car for this new addition, it's attached to the r/h side.I'm going to use for my Tiny Tempeh Tribute Band.
10. Well it arrived around 3.00 pm, Paul said he was nearly finished for the day! Here she is (on the right hand side):
11. Well he's on No 53 and 45 minutes away on their schedule but I see he's 5 minutes away in the next small town, if I jumped in the car. As someone has said, its a bit sad that nobody has really asked about the Cab but here's a teaser: it weighs 130 gms ( that really is lightweight) and the dimensions are 72mmx72mmx90mm. Anyone got it yet?
12. I've just gone for the Progressive 5 stringer. Does that mean I'll have to grow my hair and say "Man" at the end of every sentence..........."Man"? Do the "Tai-Chi" inlays help improve my posture? This will be a fretless project.
13.
Yes it's a good system and at least lets you plan your day better

Yes it's a good system and at least lets you plan your day better
Plan my day? I'm watching him (online) go from delivery to delivery (he's on No 10 now) and tantalising has passed very close to me already...!
14. I've got a new cab arriving today and have just been on the on-line tracker. Paul my Driver with DPD is currently on delivery No. 1 and I am No. 63 and I have been allocated an hours slot this afternoon for delivery between 2.30 and 3.30! Given the comments on an earlier thread around Couriers dumping items over a fence/into a bin, it gives you some perspective as to their workload.
15.
DEKOS! INlcuding left handed jazz bass. Can't do more now, in meeting. http://www.thomann.d...and_basses.html
All the new additions are "on request" too...
16. That's what happens if you carry a guitar and a bass in one of those double cases...
17. [sup]Following a disagreement in the Studio, 6' 10" "They Might be Giants" singer John Flansburgh decided to start up his own Bicycle Company as he always needed a bespoke frame.[/sup]
18. David Gates, Dawn Penn, Billy Piper and Gareth Gates are recording a version of Piper at the Gates of Dawn for Charity.
19. Currency of Man by Melody Gardot. Mix of Jazz, Soul, R&B and much more. One thing irks me mind, no credits anywhere for the Bass Player, neither on CD nor Allmusic.com.
20.
I've been fostered, adopted and given up again, and know plenty of people like me who have grown up troubled and unwanted, but came out as nice decent caring people (who know how much these things hurt so wont want to inflict it on others). I also know people with disney backgrounds who are horrible, vindictive and walk over anyone.
Like Walt Disney?!
21.
He was a keen fan of the Bay City Rollers and often assisted at their concerts, which inspired him in the creation of a TV series.
That must be "Hoff the Record" then?
22.
The rumours that I recently changed my name from its Swedish original are unfounded. I wasn't Bjorn yesterday.
Reminds me of something shamelessly stolen from the Bad Joke section..."David Hasslehoff has decided to revert to his shortened name, "Hoff" for his new TV show, as the full name is too much hassle...
23. Very nice (like the way the finish continues in line with the neck on the back) but it looks as if the mice have been nibbling that top belly cut-away!
24.
Good man for posting that.
Wasn't Benny in Abba/Robert Johnson at the Crossroads?
25.
Johnny Winter and Donna Summer once recorded a blues/disco version of the old Justin Hayward hit 'Forever Autumn'. It had a Spring release.
I think I'd have liked to see "The Fall" in there somewhere too.
