1. Just fell over this on YouTube. Some nice playing from Travis including judicious use of a synth patch.
2. Looks a bit too modern to be 1951 in my totally uneducated opinion, as it looks like the old Dansette wooden box with vinyl covering constrruction which was early 60's if my memory serves me well, likewise the plastic handle. But I could be totally and embarrassingly wrong....
3. Oh, just a little pause to savour 40k plus views on this thread........................................................................aah!
4. MInd Gallagher and Lyle's "Heart on my Sleeve" confused the A&E staff too
5.
X-Ray Spex can see through all sorts of obfuscation.
Pete Townsend can see for miles too...actually it is Roger Daltry
6.
What is a "Slebs"?
A bit like a Slob, but with more £££!
7.
That doesn't count, Harry Shearer is a fictional character. (Played by Derek Smalls.)
OK then: Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, The Rev Lovejoy or Scratchy?
8. Only the later Mk 2 heads in the combo are Indonesian, off the top of my head I think they ran for around 3 years with Italian Mark 2 heads before switching. The different heads are really just the difference between the LMII head and the LMII head also.
9.
Agreed, and I think that's a shame - the stuff she was doing solo was excellent & quite unique - now with a full band it she sounds (and looks) very anodyne. But that's the business, I guess. Jon.
Yes, I have the first album and it was quite quirky, from the stuff I saw on Later she has been positioned much more mainstream now.
10.
Nobody can read what the band Blur's real name is
Bet The Ozric Spectacles can?
11. Talk Talk and The Walker Brothers are talk talking about a collaboration of "Life's what you make it, Jacqui". Negotiations are stalled on a name for the collective group however.
12. You do know they drive on the right hand side of the road over there?
13. Thomann have a Black B stock WSB in for £630ish. Put some nylon flats on it and it's almost fretless..
14. Apparently, whilst the new Rush R40 Tour is going well, they have booked less dates than previous Tours, to ensure it's all less of a....................rush
15. Bassist on the Stingray was using a pick... Lianne La Havas seems to being groomed for the gap left by Corinne Bailey-Rae?
16.
Sorry I didn't get back to you... Need something bigger but as this is now worth £165 it may have exactly what I need ha ha! Good luck with the sale
No worries.
17. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbp90bk_shortscale_ebass.htm £55 plus £8 postage, nice narrow neck, lightweight and if you got a hard case, fit it with one of those £1 shop dehumidifiers? If it warps it will have cost you less than a tank of petrol, Keep your eyes peeled for the decos and you may get one for around a £10!
18.
Steve Gibson, mentioned above, drums in my band and is worth getting in touch with.
Small world, say hello to Gibbo for me!
19.
I've toured musical theatre in theatres of up to two and a half thousands. With regards to tours buses, at first it is really cool. You feel a bit rock star. It soon wears off especially sleeping on thin mattresses in stacked coffins. It is fun and exciting playing the venues. If you are a geek like me each venue and it's history is interesting. I've played stages that deep purple played and laurel and hardy. Pretty cool. I have wife and kids. It doesn't take long to miss them. I'd have paid good money to Deep Purple with Laurel and Hardy! I enjoy going to different parts of the country and checking them out. The money is quite good but you do spend a lot of it whilst touring. So it has it's ups and downs.
I'd have paid good money to see Deep Purple with Laurel and Hardy!
20. If I was still up in Yorkshire I could have of recommended a number of deps as we used them all the time with Idle Hands but have no idea now who is still on the circuit. However Steve Gibson at Beat It Music Shop in Baildon is a drummer and may know of someone as there are a number of tutors working out of there :01274 599774
21. Should UK Eurovision representatives "Electro Velvet" fail to come first in Vienna next week, they will probably go underground.
