2.
Brass guitar thing. The most expensive 'deko' I remember seeing. http://www.thomann.d..._brass_deko.htm EDIT: Note that 'brass' is not a typo.
Is it any good for Metal?
3.
My bass ukulele came today. So that was an order placed at 9.30 on Saturday, shipped and delivered for when I got into the office 9am this morning (Tuesday). That's pretty good. The uke is bigger than I expected. I've put a pic below of it resting against my Squier VM jazz. There's an ever so slight mark on the front of the bass which is barely noticeable. If I'd bought a "proper" version I'd probably not notice it nor would I send it back for that. The A string rattles a lot. I'd call it fret buzz but rubber strings don't buzz, they kinda boing off the frets a bit. The E string is a little like that, and the D and G to a much lesser extent. It came with a truss-rod tool so I tried loosening off the truss rod as there's a bit of back bow on the neck. The neck doesn't seem to be moving at all though. Also 5-6 of the frets are too high up the neck but I've got the tools to fix that. I plugged it in and the D and G strings sound great but you can barely hear the E and A strings. It's not a slight difference, it's a "is it on? oh wait, yes, that's loud" difference when going from the A to the D string. I read about someone having an issue in the reviews of the non-deko ones. A quick read of the B-band website (the pickup/preamp maker) says that an incorrectly sat pickup can do this. So at the moment it's unplayable due to the rattly A string and can't be amped due to the difference in string volumes. At the moment though, I think I can solve these. For £42 delivered it's probably not worth sending back if I think I can turn it into a bit of a project. I could even rip the frets out and turn it fretless. Not sure if that would solve the rattly A string though. Reckon I should try and fix the issues or send it back? I've got the (huge) box it came in at work still but will have to recycle it in the next day or two so I'll need to decide today or tomorrow. Here's the pic:
It's a "Project" then?
4.
... and that's FREE..?
I obviously liberate them from the capitalist pigs and return them to the proletariat, just like many punk bands did , back in the day....
5. Inevitably, (some would say), Irish American Soulsters "The O'Jays" got cited by their local Police Department for not crossing the road at the correct angle. Again(inevitably) they all blamed each other.....
6. [sub]Buy a new amp/bass and repeat ad infinitum.....[/sub]

8. Where is the CE sticker sited on a Deco Bass.....?
9. The Tygers of Pang Tang merged with Bananarama to form a new super group named Panorama
10. Ironically, all of Minneapolis alt rock band The Replacements are original members.
11. None of indie favourites "The Jesus and Mary Chain" were Christians but they were big fans of Fleetwood Mac.
12.
Bono decided to liven up his otherwise dull studio album by inviting a guest guitarist to the sessions. It was only when a rather bemused J. K. Rowling arrived at the studio that he realised he should have asked for K. K. Downing.
I bet she could have "pottered" about....
13. "Every Day is a Winding Road" songstress Sheryl Crow wrote the tune after noticing her hair was thinning and she had to see a trick cyclist. She later dated a tricky cyclist...
14. Snake Davis, Simon Rattle and Rolls Royce are forming a Super group. Their first single is mooted to be "Snake, Rattle and Rolls".
15.
I wonder how much this will go for... 16. Despite being in her 50's now, "Leaving Las Vegas" songstress Sheryl Crow does not have crow's feet. In fact she has regular pedicures.
17. The page design for the new edition for LBGS is pants. There's a review of a Jackson Kelly Bird crammed onto 2 pages with the photo taken from the arse end making it hard to see the extent of its shape. Loads of so called interviews with top players which are just rehashes of the " Do you play a 5 string" and "Who's the best player in your opinion?" questions. Still at least I've got a fold out cover so I can go and ask Mark King for his autograph...!
18. If you read the ad, the missing string is because it is missing a saddle. Not particularly reassuring, buying a Bass from that Retailer...
19. When the Gap Band of "Oops, Upside your Head " fame split up they went into fashion retailing and have established a presence in many markets across the world. Arcade Fire had to be discouraged from following the same path however.
20. Wow, they seem to be £9.00. You couldn't just use the existing round plate and buy a new jack to fit it? The round plates are available at £2.50 plus postage and the jacks are pretty cheap separately, so well less than £9.00!
21. I got one of these last year and I'm loving the simplicity of it. Mine has had flats added too.
22.
Ex axe man of The Ugly Rumours Tony Blair, has just announced a signature edition of his famous guitar. It features a Teflon coated neck.
Blair is joining up with one Robert Zimmerman to reprise his "Blood on the Tracks" album....
