  1. As usual, a delight! Funky Sonny T on Bass too. The 3 way guitarist interview around 20 minutes is fun.
  2. The body can hardly be termed ergonomic...(talking about the bass)!
  3. Maybe I could change my name to Mark for a similarly named Bass retailer.....?
  4. All performers get a plus one ticket, had I known you were interested you could have had mine....
  5. Home Farm Festival yesterday near Yeovil. 40 minute set and we did 39 minutes as I was near a laptop on stage and could see the clock, bottom right! It's great to get on a big stage, have someone else do the sound and not worry about that aspect. Took my MB CMD121P and NYC121 so I had my stack behind me...because I could ! GIg seemed over in a flash, get off the stage ASAP as there was just a 20 minute turnaround. Today just got back from a more chilled gig at a Country House Wellness Centre playing 2 sets between 12 and 3.00 pm. We were well fed and watered, venue next to a cider farm. Not quite sure what some of the many children there thought of the lyrice to John Prine's "Inspite of Ourselves". We normally suggest parents block their kids ears for this one. The verses are alternately sung by a guy and a girl if you are unfamiliar with it...: She don't like her eggs all runny She thinks crossin' her legs is funny She looks down her nose at money She gets it on like the Easter Bunny She's my baby I'm her honey I'm never gonna let her go He ain't got laid in a month of Sundays I caught him once and he was sniffin' my undies He ain't too sharp but he gets things done Drinks his beer like it's oxygen He's my baby And I'm his honey Never gonna let him go In spite of ourselves We'll end up a'sittin' on a rainbow Against all odds Honey, we're the big door prize We're gonna spite our noses Right off of our faces There won't be nothin' but big old hearts Dancin' in our eyes. She thinks all my jokes are corny Convict movies make her horny She likes ketchup on her scrambled eggs Swears like a sailor when shaves her legs She takes a lickin' And keeps on tickin' I'm never gonna let her go. He's got more balls than a big brass monkey He's a wacked out werido and a lovebug junkie Sly as a fox and crazy as a loon Payday comes and he's howlin' at the moon He's my baby I don't mean maybe Never gonna let him go In spite of ourselves We'll end up a'sittin' on a rainbow Against all odds Honey, we're the big door prize We're gonna spite our noses Right off of our faces There won't be nothin' but big old hearts Dancin' in our eyes. There won't be nothin' but big old hearts Dancin' in our eyes. In spite of ourselves
  6. I'm quite happy with our 'regional bashes'. National would most probably mean a long car/van journey for many and a large venue, all adding to cost for the organisers and participants. Sorry, but you could count me out!
  7. I bought a sample piece from one of the ebay vendors, it cost a crazy £6 for a piece 10cm X 10cm X 10 cm thick and some of that was the interlocking bit which is useless... I've since noticed there are other sellers much cheaper but not sure if they are as thick and rubberlike?
  8. If you do a search on here, maybe under HB, maybe in Repairs you'll find a lengthy thread and some members have made templates which they will pass on: 'Kodiakblair' is a member who I think has done this or would know.
  9. I use this below which came with the Bass. However have made some close replicas which are essentially the same as yours and Nordies. I used thick foam 'rubber' from a floor mat like yours to the right of the green one, rather than just bog standard foam. https://nordstrandaudio.com/products/nordymute
  10. I bet you say that to all your exe's.....( and there's been a few)!
  11. Harley Benton would be ashamed of that headstock bevel....! QC is way lacking.
  12. Just dug out this to remind myself what it sounds like as other basses have found themselves at the top of the use pile....! Its a GP custom or something similar.
  13. Just a reminder of when I got the sack: started to notice FB posts on a Monday about the gig the rest of the band had done unbeknown to me over the weekend. Excuses were 'the stage was too small" and 'the organisers wanted it low key'. Drummer confirmed excuses were BS. Band and I then went our own seperate directions...
  14. Have you seen the cost of a First Class stamp now?
  15. Yes, the spec says the internal speaker is 4ohms. I was thinking due to the model number these were 1200 watts, they are in fact 120 watts!
  16. Yes, that's the model that superceeded my photo.
  17. I think the manual I quoted from was for the standalone amp and not the combo, as despite the blurb, the various diagrams showing how you can connect it up only show one cab from the speaker socket.
  18. Yes, from their blurb: 'The BX1200 features a custom-made 12" aluminum cone speaker that reproduces your sound with incredible power, sensitivity and warmth. Should you need extra clout for larger venues, you’ve got the option of connecting additional speakers and/or power amps. ' https://mediadl.musictribe.com/media/sys_master/h44/h4b/8850001690654.pdf P3 mentions 'connector for external speaker cabinets!' P6 cautions to only '4 ohm cabinet' use only Trouble is there is only 1 output as I guess you have already seen, I'm not sure how a splitter would work with a 4ohm cab ( as the combo speaker is 4 ohm too) but I'm sure someone will be along who does!
  19. Our guitarist has a number of Squier Tele's and Fender MIM/MIA ones too. I always ask him if he has brought the 'real Fender' to the gig. I say it not as an instrument snob but as part of a running joke: when he first joined he brought a different and tasty Tele every week to the rehearsals..... Myself I've had Indo Squiers and Mexican Fenders, my current Fender is a 72 USA Tele Bass: I've been happy with them all until GAS intervened!
  20. Can't not see price increases across the whole music equipment supply sector.....
  21. I ordered some strings and they took over a week to arrive but the fault was with Royal Mail whose 48 hour delivery turned to 120 hour delivery! When I rang up after a week BD offered to send by Express another set but they then arrived the following day. Oh, and best price in Europe on Labella strings too!
  22. Look out for his next novel: starting in 2022 a load of Ravers went to a rave in Davidstowe, but soon lives tangle with the remants of lives thrown together in the war on the old moorland airfield. The action is free-flowing between 2021 and 2022 and written in continuous form in 75,000 words with no chapter breaks and despite being a novel it is fast moving enough for you to read it in a day.
  23. On Davidstow Moor, by Mark Phillips Starting in 1971 with a family of hippies going to a festival in Cornwall, but soon lives tangle with the remnants of lives thrown together in the war on the old moorland airfield. The action is free-flowing between 1942 and 1971 and written in continuous form in 75,000 words with no chapter breaks and despite being a novel it is fast moving enough for you to read it in a day. Message me with any questions or thoughts? Thanks, Mark P................. What are we waiting for? Q1. Why do you dislike commas and guitar geeks?
