In defence of Basschat (the site), there have been a number of occasions where the Basschat massive have come to the aid of someone who has been ripped off, even to the extent of a whip-around. As much of what happens on Gumtree and eBay is between the buyer and seller, it is to the credit of this site that the mods have been open about an occasion where they could not do any more to help.. The feedback system here is a good place to start...before buying off anyone, read their feedback from other buyers and sellers and form your own opinion. Thanks for changing the post title!!

Following the departure of Courtney Love from Hole (due to her reading some negative feedback on her playing on Basschat), Fairport's Dave Pegg was the favourite to replace her.

Thomann policy with me has been to offer a further discount before offering a replacement. Making the slots shallower is not rocket science ( see Youtube) but when you buy a new Bass you expect it perfect and arsing around sending stuff back to them which they then (in my case) fiddle around with for a few days before sending a replacement is quite frustrating especially when you know it's faulty and they won't take your word for it.
