1. Just come back from the sound check for tonight's gig in a Barn ( literally), it's a Wedding Venue. I do some throaty BV's and as my Mike lead was a bit short to the desk due to the size of the room, I joined 2 X 10m XLRs together... but no sound. So I disconnected them and tried each 10m one in turn and they both worked individually into the desk.Yet joined together they don't work. How can this be, it defies logic?
2.
With only 3 intonation screws, no wonder they're giving it away. Telecaster bass..?
If you win it, I'll gladly take it off your hands then as I don't mind the intonation being a bit out.....how's £150 sound?
3. Thought he was a bit laid back and understated: he should really stop sitting on the fence.
4. Nothing like the Lib Dem MP for East Fife, must be a fake...?
5. If you are buying new, then the truss rod should have plenty of adjustment anyway. I've just got a new Squier VM P Bass 5 string and put a set of Status flats on it, tweaked the truss rod about 45 degrees, dropped the saddles, readjusted the intonation and it is sweet.
6. Clever to use pickups of the same surname, although different first name.
7. If you'd venture into Dorset/Somerset there's always the Queens Head at Milborne Port, venue from the last Dorset Bash....? Sorry, don't want to hijack the SW Bash but it seems to have gone quiet...?
8. "German engineered" I thought HB Basses came from the far far east? More BS although the prices are more realistic
9. Would you "Adam and Eve" it, I've just received an Eden E10 bought from David! Very well packed, great comms. and buy from him with confidence.
10. Wonder how many of the 5% play a 5 string....?
11. Saw the Crusaders, must be 30 plus years ago at Newcastle City Hall. A great gig and Joe Sample was an excellent arranger and musician.
12. Thought this looked rather cool at the Hyde Park gig this afternoon: http://www.myrareguitars.com/1960s-kent-short-scale-bass-guitar
13. Err, the Bass will obviously be called John...
14.
Well, I didn't get a white one...
Shouldn't you be called Precisionbass......?
15.
There were no photos of the JB-75. I was buying blind and think I just got lucky. It could just as easily ended up hanging on the wall.
Judging from your photo that looks the only place with any room!
16. I'd looked at all these and thought there were dints near the neck but as the OP says it's a stamped "D". Annoyingly you really can't see if there's any further damage from the photos but there's a fretless 4 and a fretted 5 that tempt me...
17. Just wonder how Thomann send their parcels by Deutsche Post 'cos their boxes for Basses are very big?
18. Did a quick check for reviews on Amazon and was not too positive for using on non domestic items....!
19. and its so lightweight its a "slip of a thing"....
20. Just be aware they have just released amplug 2 which has some built in rhythms so some Dealers with cheaper ones may actually be the old earlier stock...
21.
Do they take it back in case the bass has dead spots? Best
The case has dead spots...where?! I think that's all part of the charm of a Fender, especially on flats
