1. Thing is, I've managed it OK when placing a Bass for Sale ....? Anyway all sorted now.
2. Think I needed to put 3995.00 !
3. No, I just put in the bare price ..... 3995
4. Trying to sell a car in the "sell anything lounge" and cannot post the ad. Keeps on saying " enter a price"! I have paid my £20 for a year fee so it can't be that...? Any help would be appreciated thanks. Just a thought, is it a separate fee for this Lounge? I've already paid £20 to sell in the bass/amp/fx lounges
5.
Worth a punt just for the hardware.
No good on a punt, you'd need to use a Pole....!
6. I'm liking the headstock treatment , might do that on my Fender 1960 Jazz to increase its value. I think the starting bid may be a bit rich however at £40....
7. I love my Warwick Star Bass.....and my first Bass was a Gibson EB2
8. It's the "flower power" paint job that gives it away...doesn't it? At least that's what the seller claims.
9. I'm 59 and have noticed many of our audiences are older than me.......!
10. Selling this very nice 5 String budget Bass at a very realistic price. Bought new in February this year. Good Points Looks good, nice tones, quiet pots, nice shallow neck, great action and value. Bad Points Headstock dinted, tiny dint near bridge pickup, dint behind bridge, scratch plate tort wearing off where thumb anchors. (All highlighted in photos) This was my beater Bass and as such I have not worried too much about it getting slightly marked. In the interests of full disclosure there may be a few swirls and light scratches which I have not noticed but I'm a bit anal about these things! Note: I will be replaced the flats in the photo with the "as new" original stock strings . Will post double boxed in what it was delivered at the Buyers cost. c£15 UK Update: added 2 more photos showing string spacing at pickups. Only selling as I fancy a 5 String VM Precision and its "one in, one out"! 11. [sup]Seen Steve Lawson and Pete Academy, quite a disparate selection! Both bloody good players too.[/sup]
12. Ask him if the headstock has been refinished...that'll catch him out.......!
13. The Zoot Dukes are looking for a Guitarist with an ear and aptitude for Jump Jive and Rock and Roll. We are loosely based around Sherborne and rehearse in Milborne Port. Visit our website for more details of line up, playlist and gigs. I should add you will need your own transport. Do make contact if you require further information! http://www.zootdukes.co.uk/home.html
14. B stock tend to have dents or other damage so he'd have to declare it. I should have said legally/ethically wrong.....
15.
Update. Well the jazz bass turned up so HNGD or so i thought It seems somewhere along the line a courier has decided to ruin a perfectly nice instrument, It turned up with the inner box completely wrecked, weirdly the outer box was fine!? Result a major dent in the headstock, bent tuning peg and the lower strap pin bent which now won't tighten. Contacted Thomann to see what they suggested, They have offered me a 25 euro discount (£20). Personally I'm not that happy with the discount but maybe i'm being a bit unfair. What do the basschat massive think. Take the discount or return the bass for another? Cheers
This is exactly what happened to me ( twice) earlier this year and I showed them via photos and text how their packaging on the HB was not robust enough. Tell them to FO and send you another instrument, I did ...and that arrived damaged too! The problem is that the inner box is not robust enough and even thought the outer carton may be undamaged, the neck rest and padding to the Headstock inside the inner box becomes detached and the Bass then moves around. Don't take any crap from them. You could say its an issue that has been mentioned on Basschat. The only reason I kept my second Bass was ( apart from the discount) it was noticeably lighter than the first one! What annoys me with them is that instead of accepting your word the Bass is damaged, they ask to see photos, then make an insulting offer rather than accepting the word of the customer and replacing the Bass as a matter of course.

Sold some Speakers to Barrie, very disappointed in his attitude as he would not take any Marrows! However everything else was spot on, instant payer and great comms. Buy from/sell to with total confidence P.S. Anyone want a Marrow or two?
17. So he buys these from TH at £99 plus £10 postage? An hour with some fine sandpaper and spray can, say £1.50. Sells on eBay for £199 minus eBay/PP fees. say £21. A good £70 profit. I have no issues with that other than he's hoodwinking buyers into thinking they are getting something more expensive than it is. Ethically wrong if not morally wrong too, IMHO.
18. I bought a "display" Variax Bass from Thomann maybe 10 years ago. They assured me it had been in a display case and never played so I paid my £550 (it was a 5 string). It arrived without the correct stereo cables, an obviously used and incorrect power unit, protective film off the scratch plate, no manual and scratches to the Bass. I pointed this all out to them immediately and they basically blamed me for all the issues. I contacted Line 6 who sorted me out with the missing parts FOC. I spent ages on the phone to Thomann and they just lied to me. Eventually I wrote to the CEO, who passed my complaint back down and they knocked another 50 euros off the price but accepted no liability. Equally I had an obviously damaged in transit PJ Bass from them earlier this year and once I showed them photos, they sent another,... which again was damaged and they knocked 15 euros off the cost. Now the scratchplate pattern is wearing away and they say if I post it back to them, they will decide if its "reasonable wear and tear". If it is not they will charge me 15 euros to get my Bass back. You can probably guess that Bass is going nowhere near a parcel courier! My Warwick Star Bass came from Thomann too and there have been absolutely no issues, in the interests of balance.
19. He's not replied to my eBay message telling him its a HB........yet!
20. There's a phrase that comes to mind and it continues to resonate...."All the gear and no idea"! Not referring to anyone on here but you can be a great player with budget gear and no punter will be able to distinguish otherwise. Equally you can be a great player with great gear, a crap player with great gear etc etc.....
21. I've told him its a HB but I guess he knew that anyway...?
22. There's hardly a punter (who's not a muso) that can distinguish between a Vintage Bass and a Fender one. Ditto re your Amp. The good thing about Basschat is you get to see and hear about all the other gear out there. The bad thing about Basschat.......
23.
"Hmm, this bass didn't seem to sell so well last time I put it on eBay... I think I'll put the price up, THAT will work!" I like how he's chucked multiple strings through the same bridge saddle. That's a really nice touch.
10 saddles, 15 strings..what's a man to do? Looks like the bridge has got grooves spare on it too. £950? having a laugh...
24. Google "TC Amps power" or something similar, there has been plenty of debate!
