1. Interested to know if the amps are all made in Indonesia now too? Earlier in the thread Marco dodged the question when it was asked a couple of times around would there be a price drop to compensate for the lower production costs. Looks like there is unless Thomann have bought up a load of stock very cheaply...
2. Good review but you did not say what sort of Astra it was......
3.
Is this a sign of future pricing? http://www.thomann.d...af2389d3a167fa0
I know it looks very affordable now. There's people selling MB gear in the used section second-hand for not much less than it is new at Thomann!
4.
I think that Marco contributing here is great and I would hesitate in using him as a shortcut to customer service
I have to disagree, if I was MD of a company( and for all you know I may be..) and there were issues I'd want to know about them, from any source! I did say PM him and I'd hope he'd appreciate the heads-up
5. Review ( if you can call it that) in this months BGM. I sound a bit grumpy on this as they show two identical cabs ( when one will do), no picture of the controls and the summaries are both labelled Fender Rumble 100 when they actually review the 500 too.... They were not keen on the FX but say the combos are nice and light. For the same £ from Thomann you could get a punchier and smaller MarkBass 15" 500w combo.....
6.
That Lux like you are Wrights but I was hoping to use them as Simple Pears but that may sound Lush, but then, that's Lifebouy.
You soft-soaping me?
7. If I had a new Mark Bass cab and the handle broke I would be PMing Marco on this thread....!
8. Don't soap bar pickups give a cleaner sound? I'll get me coat.....
9. I read the thread title as "advice re personal massages" so already I'm disappointed.....
10. or to be more accurate regarding a maple board... http://www.fender.com/en-GB/basses/dimension-bass/american-deluxe-dimension-bass-v-hh-maple-fingerboard-natural/
11. Something like this....? http://www.soundsliveshop.com/p/Fender_American_Deluxe_Dimension_Bass_IV_HH_Cayenne_Burst_RW/FEN-019-5500-728?CAWELAID=720016190000000489&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=1827198761&cadevice=c&gclid=CLejp_jP_r4CFeoJwwodmUkA9A
12. Well he offered me the DB first and I thought " Don't know what I'm going to be playing so it would be easier to busk on the Precision", As it happens I know Copperhead Road although who ever heard of a road named after a cider?
13. Think my eldest was too embarassed to take any but I'm sure there will be something trending on social media......!
14. Down in London for a few days seeing the kids. Went to see Rich Hall's Showdown at the Soho Theatre tonight and it's a musical comedy show, him plus a countryish band. He spends quite a lot of time talking to the audience and guess who was sat right at the front under his gaze? When he asked me what i did I replied "I'm a Bassist" and I was invited on to the stage. We did Copperhead Road which luckily I knew and the rest is history...I guess it's all downhill from here! James Watson I think was the band bassist and he played a precision and upright double with aplomb! Big thanks to Rich and the Band.
15. Went to see this last night as I'm in London at the moment. Great show but everytime I thought the guy playing bass on stage was actually live, it then became clear he was miming. Right at the end the actual playing musicians got 2 minutes to show some chops. Anyone know who the live Bassist is? Could not find a clue on the website.
16. Easy...take all your gear out of the car and with you. You know it makes sense...!
17. Amazed how many go for a Fender clone when they have a custom Bass built....NOT! Love the switchgear positions too. I did...!
18. Thomann offer a 2 or 3 year warranty from memory so should be good for a return/replacement....
19. Gear4music sell off a few items that got broken in transit to them on eBay. Don't think that should affect you when buying a solid bass! It does call into question G4music's eBay policy however, for the few quid they get on a damaged guitar, amp or bass it creates a bit of a junkyard impression and having visited their showroom, it is far from that!
20. Not clear what they are offering for 4k however.... I got a fully pro PA with 8 speakers, monitors, lights, desk and sound engineer for £350 for a gig at one of the huge halls at the York Railway Museum a few years ago. This seems a lot less for more than 10X more...
21. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271513303205?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D271513303205%26_rdc%3D1 Here's a link. Wonder what it will sell at?
22. Reviews of the Rumble 100 and 500 in this month's BGM.
