1. I thought the ex leader of Orleans (John Hall) was now a Politician? Why would he be scanning eBay UK....?
2. One set of speakers was £120k on their website...cheap and cheerful I reckon....
3. Hmm...font for the header and the main text different, looks like a stitch up to me?
4. Did an elective music course for one term back in 1973 whilst studying at Leeds Poly...... It's a very vibrant city and used quite a few dep drummers from LCM when I lived up there 3 or 4 years ago. They are now in a purpose built building next to Leeds Playhouse.
5.
To be honest, I do not understand this three tier approach when the build quality of the cheapest stuff is challenging the more expensive stuff. It's hard enough to differentiate two price points, let alone three, especially when it's the same brand name on the headstock and there's a significantly less polarised geographical/instrument making pedigree angle to exploit. Hence why this question seems to crop up whenever Yamaha's latest BBs are discussed - "why should I get a 2024 over a 1024 over a 424?" Now don't get me wrong. I love my BBs but this has me scratching my head a bit.
What about Fender then: Squier, Mexico, USA and Custom shop...all look virtually identical when up on a stage!
6.
Thanks Alex! Ambient- seriously start it as soon as you can, i wish i had! I could be on holiday somewhere right now if i'd done it already, instead im in my room staring at a screen. im a mess, i have tea breath and i havent shaved or left the house since friday! Its actually not that dramatic, im finding it quite funny. The tesco man just delivered my food shopping so im absolutely ready to be locked down in the house and get things done!
!!!!!
7. "thanks for looking" ...you don't think it's our old friend diversifying do you? Notice the origin of the seller is very "general"?
8. [sub]It might do better in the Effects For Sale Lounge...or maybe a kind Mod would move it?[/sub]
9.
='yorks5stringer' Mind there's fast free delivery.... MB1. ...Now That's Reasurring!
Well, people are so negative on these threads.....
10. The address of the seller appears to be a yacht moored in a marina, if all the other issues aren't worrying enough!
11. I recently posted about some Rotosound strings I ordered from the USA in haste/error. They were £4 cheaper than the other UK sellers until I paid a total of £13 in extras to HMRC and Royal Mail. Equally I've had a set of vintage Fender Tuners sent from the USA which cost me £65 and they got in free! Also an ebony fingerboard arrived from China marked "sample" and at a value of $15 ( cost me £75) came in unmolested too.
12. Jeez, don't let our resident guitar improver see those lego knobs....
13. Would bidding a Zoot Horn Rolo be acceptable do you think?
14. Looks like the guy who played with Joss Stone: Pete Iannacone?
15.
Probably round your mums house!
Hope not, she's been dead 26 years! They were sent by daughter No2 to Mrs Y5S
16. Got quite a few when I was "studying" in Leeds 1973-1976. Think my favourite is Steely Dan when they were on at Leeds Uni which is a pastiche of Desperate Dan. May post a photo of it tomorrow....Mrs Y5S was only saying the other day, I should get them framed and display them.
17. There was a recall a few months ago....
18.
He's not going to starve off the back of those postage costs!
Not cheap sending something by the US Post....I wonder if it's a "signed for " service?
19. Yes, our Singer/hornplayer and keyboard/hornplayer are a couple and have been for some years. Never a cross word but sometimes we have to look away when they blow each other's horns right in front of us.....
