1. Late on Sunday evening I was browsing eBay and gassing for a fretless Godin A5. I saw one with a US based shop "islandmusiccompany" who were a Godin Dealer. I dropped them a line to see if they could get me a fretless neck ( as I have a fretted A5 already). I had previously spoken with Godin themselves who said they sold them but only through their Dealers, so to speak to their UK Importers who needless to say not replied to me. Anyway within few hours islandmusicompany had got back to me to ask if it was a problem with a bass I had bought from them and how could they help. I explained I was after a replacement neck only and by lunchtime Tuesday they had got a price to me. At £300 delivered plus taxes it's not an impulse buy but I was so impressed with their helpful and proactive approach. Take a bow islandmusiccompany !
2. Been watching this for a while now and get the monthly episodes as I've signed up. Best episode for me has to be Dianne Birch, absolutely fabulous.
3. When I said "in concept" I guess I meant lots of metal content....! Not meaning to rain upon your parade!
4. Coincidentally at the LBGS there is a company with a modern take on the same concept, the Square One Bass:http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/square-one-guitars-confirmed-for-2013-show/
5. [sub]Luckily there is a "make me an Offer" option......£35?[/sub]
6.
Nice post. best, God
Thanks, but did you mean to post it here...?
7. [sub]Yep, only £60 a month for the rest of your life.....![/sub]
8. Nice main photo...next time try it with the flash off!
9. New subscription gift is now just a Klinnsman stand worth £14.99! BTW can anyone explain why their NAMM coverage had very few photos of the goodies described? Deadlines or copyright?
10. Just riffing on the "built in cable"..how cool would it be to have a built in cable in Basses that rewound rather like on a cylinder vacuum cleaner? You could have a 30' cable and wander all around the stage! Just need to work how it would all fit in the control cavity......
11. "It has a built in cable"-I'd wager that is not OEM but has been added as it looks as if it would plug into your record player....!
12. Not me, but I'm in the Mark King edition with a white Jaydee Roadie and a bottle of dog....
13. Had one of his albums years back(whatevershebringswesing), seem to recall "This is a song from the bottom of a well" with some fondness. R.I P.
14.
I'm bi-curious.
Then the new Markbass Amp is just made for you....! i think its 1000w bi-amped but you'd have to check......(I'll get me coat)
15.
How active do you have to be before you would be considered as a "trader" on here?
Active? I'm passive aggressive!
16.
Kiwi, Lee most certainly does! Of course its not what he's known for or makes his living from. Thanks!
As I have an old pair of platform shoes lying around, am I right to assume that the currency for buying this Bass is an old pair of shoes? If so, I may have 2 pairs...!
17. 45 bucks is what replacement bridge saddles might cost, never mind a bridge!
18. That's less than they wanted I guess but the newer version with the fancy electronics has hit values. I paid £50 more for not such an excluisve coloured one but as a 5 String last year with case, here on BC. Incidentally there's a guy had a new 5 String on since before Xmas at around £1k and it's not shifted.
19.
I'll see your plastic beer crates and raise you some wooden tea chests: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3ccee6447e As an added bonus, not only are these tea chests "vintage" (though not, sadly, "rare") but they were also "found in the loft" ... one point deducted for failure to mention an uncle.
So you actually searched for Tea Chests on eBay?
20. Odd, described as a 5 String in the Listing Heading and 4 string in the text below. Not cheap all those missing parts either!
21. It seems ideal for the Bassist who cannot decide which Amp to use that night. Buy this and you have around 40...!
