1. Think it's graphite paint you use which sells for a silly price in a tiny pot. I once had a half litre of it for around £30, the small pots are 30 ml for £11!
2. £20 delivery, I've just posted a Bass in a proper box for £7.50
3. Do you think he could convert a Chapman Stick to 4 strings for the Incredible Hulk?
4. Stuff I bought a few years ago said it had conductive adhesive
5. Just re-read the Schechter 7 string blurb, apparently he does the "tuner reorientaion conversion himself". Would that be taking the Tuner out and leaving a big bloody hole? Useful if you are into Clapton era solos, you could stick an e-fag into it....
6.
why has he put 2 miss matched control knobs on when the black originals matched the rest of the hardware? `touch of class`? cheap and tacky more like! and why has he swapped the neck humbucker out for a flamin jazz bass pick up? the blokes an idiot.
"(Jazz Bass Pickup)gives a superb frequency range and is nearly as powerful as the twin coiled humbucker so needs just a small height differential to equalise the volumes." Nuff said !
7. Hmm, he's carved his usual v-shaped canyons into the nut but no mention of the action, he must have run out of gnats microbes...!
8.
And great for putting round plant pots to keep the slugs off your plants
Err, shouldn't that comment be in "Off Topic"?
9. Was it the type with conductive adhesive? It saves you having to solder across joints.
10.
I will definitely have to get a copy of that album. Jazzyvee
Noticed it was only £5 in HMV!
11. Whoever said American educational standards were slipping...?
12. I contacted someone on JMB and we had a good initial exchange. In response to his comment that "I wasn't 14 was I as many who posted were" I said , "No I'm 58 actually!" No response since.....
13. Have I understood this corrrectly...TC initiate a recall and the purchaser has to pay the postage back to their Repair Agents?!
14.
Who IS this Mark Percy fella? I've just had a v quick look at his site but I'd rather hear about him from BCers. So, go on, who is he?
I think it best we deprive him of the oxygen of further free publicity......
15.
I do wonder why he bothers. He's paid just short of £140 including delivery and is trying to sell it for £167. Subtract eBay and paypal fees from that and he can't be making much.
I know exactly why he bothers: to entertain his legion of followers! MDP Rocks!
16.
I would imagine you would have to put them in a hermetically sealed bag like D'addario's. Its quit a wet place is your freezer even if its all frozen. I see the logic but strings are not perishable to that extent. But try it and find out. It wont hurt if they are sealed. Unless of course you want to take it down to about 2deg above absolute zero to straighten those atoms out. They will sound amazing especially if you sell them for about £5k a string A
Don't be silly , no-one will buy sausages for £5k a string....
17. I suppose if you were in a Coldplay Tribute act that might work.....
18. Just sold a 5 String from them in Spalted Maple and got a replacement coming this week. Will do a review.
19. I'd be very wary, the last dodgy one that was on was a similar modus operandi. It was advertised on Bournemouth Gumtree and ended up being in the Scottish Isles. The guy never once spoke to me about the Bass, just how he wanted payment. When I suggested someone looking at it, he got very jumpy. He had an eastern european name which may/may not have been genuine. I was never interested in the Bass, just how the scam would work, The photos were the same ones from a previous scam according to those who know these things.
20.
Have I missed something? Has the Ad recently been updated? It says it's an "OLP" in the title.
Yes, however it says "Musicman OLP Stingray" , has a Musicman Decal and there's the rub....!
21. Steve has just bought a Spalted 5 String from me, quick payment and clear communications. Hope he enjoys fettling it!
22. What's an " oscilascope "? Is it related to an oscilloscope perhaps? Shame we can't see a photo of the nut just to see what butchery it has been subjected to. Do you think he's good with horses....?
23. Has an added jazz Bass pickup too, unlikely you'd do that to a proper one.
24. Looks like one of those Chinese copies to me! Seriously, the seller is having a giraffe
25. Would this work on a Bass too? http://www.stewmac.com/tsarchive/ts0182.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ts0182
