1. If you are not very good, then you would have to work hard to achieve a satisfactory level of performance..?
2.
It's divisive. We live on one f***ing planet, let's just have bass regardless of where it is. That page also comes across as sycophantic.
Great post mate.....!
3. It's the same mob who have one listed by me elsewhere in this lounge where they do not mention the name. Seems odd to say the least....

5.
It's a shame that Joel hasn't come on here with his viewpoint at this moment in time. From what I've seen from his posts on here, he seems a decent enough bloke willing to hold his hands up if something has gone a bit pear shaped with the mag. Maybe the foul up was at the printers as has been mentioned previously? The double Fender ABG feature aside, I thought this months copy was a good read, but have started getting a bit bored with reading about bass players who don't use a particular technique or a 4/5/6 string bass. That definitely needs to be binned - I'd rather have those pages devoted to another interview devoted to a particular bass player (any genre, don't care which), which would be far more useful.
In a similar vein, does anyone bother with the Bass USA page? Surely we need to know who's touring in the UK, unless it's to pander for a few US bassnerds?
6. Look for the width of the neck at the nut, some are quite narrow and if you have fat fingers..... Cough.. I have a very cheap 5 string for sale in the For Sale lounge....
7. Look good for that Country Band gig I'm after....

9. Epic fail, you spelt USA correctly! (Looks like there may be a job at BGM for you...)
10. Nice cheap 5 string in the For Sale section at the moment...cough!
11.
Maybe that's their way forward? - with a free bass selotaped to the cover instead of a free [s]coaster[/s] CD.
"selotaped"!!!!!
12. Bump for new price and payment options. So a 1 off payment of £90 (£10 prompt payment discount) or 3 of £33 at monthly intervals.
13.
And if it is indeed £7 a pop then it should be flawless! edit: typo!!
I think the £6.99 might refer to the digital edition..the print one is £425......
14. Last subs gift with them was a set of Rotosounds (c £20) so this is much better.
15. " Hopefully Joel will be along soon to clarify matters. " Noticed after his initial contact, he doesn't seem to have been on since and maybe that's not a bad thing..I'd be happier if he was sorting out all the errors and producing a decent magazine rather than apologising to us lot, who to be frank have sometimes nothing better to do than be picky....! (And yes it is annoying but nobody died) From what I understand from speaking to a past Editor, it is produced on a [s]bass[/s]shoe string. Doubtless the offending Mike Lull review will be along next month......
16. Take plenty of warm clothes, it's very cold up there at the moment and if it's being held on his premises, it's a workshop, not a nice warm office!
17.
yes can see that - guess the generic descriptions threw me, and I neglected my Sherlockian powers of observation!!
Elementary...?
18. You think he'd just beg steal or borrow..?
19. It will be genuine if the seller does not give you a cocknbull story about now living in the Hebrides....!
20.
I'm quite tempted purely to hang it my wall, looks lovely! But we both know how my long my last 5 string journey lasted
You could use it to hide any red felt tip marks.....
21. "........Until you drew all over the neck with red marker" You clearly have not got kids!! Here's the eBay listing: http://www.ebay.de/itm/HK-5-Saiter-Bass-in-Spalted-Maple-Top-Nur-wenige-/390521405981?pt=Gitarren&hash=item5aece3c21d
22. Yes, sorry had usual problems uploading photos so had to go to a hosting site and forgot to include ones of the actual Bass! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/43/s5001180.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/201/s5001181.jpg/
23. I have a brand new HK Spalted Maple Veneer 5 String Bass for sale here for only £90 delivered! On the basis "if it's that cheap, it's too good to be true", there must be a catch and there is: I will be making full disclosure! First the good points: it has a really nice neck profile, is lightweight (4kg) and I think looks quite distinctive. It has a decent sound from both pickups and the pots are nice and quiet too. The neck is 45mm at the nut. The finish is pretty good too but obviously not to Squier standards. Now the issues:it arrived in an undamaged box but with a number of small marks/dints all over the neck, as per the photos. Most will sand/steam out without affecting the neck profile but a couple "under" the 2nd fret will need filling. As the neck is like the current Squiers and very pale, if I was keeping it I would tint and True Oil it too. Just reviewing the photos, I have tried to capture the damage from different angles so many of the highlighted areas are duplicates on the next photo. There are around 10 marks, I'd say only 2-3 need filling, the rest are superficial. Because of the cost of postage, the Seller has suggested I sell it on eBay as damaged and he'll sell me another undamaged one. I thought I'd offer it here first, these retail on German eBay at £150 although similar ones branded Stellah go for around £135 I think. At this price I am losing money on what I paid for it, but the seller has agreed to cover my costs. It will come packed in the box in the photo which I will wrap in another layer of card/bubble wrap too. http://imageshack.us.../s5001185e.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...9/s5001184.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...4/s5001183.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...8/s5001182.jpg/ Any questions, don't hesitate to ask! if anyone wants to collect it, I'll take £10 off. I just bought it as a cheap back-up to my Kbass but don't go thinking this is a rubbish bass, i've been quite impressed with it sounds and playability. Have been authorised to drop it to £90 delivered UK, or will do 3 payments of £33- need to move it on! (0% APR)
