1. Old bearded guy ( clutching a dodgy guitar) goes into a 2nd hand bookshop..."Do you have Guitar Restoration by Mark D Phillips"?
2. I see he's come up with a new unit of measurement after his "micro wotsit" was derided by all: to move all the strings "an even gnat's cock" towards the center.
3. Here's a list of names culled from this thread. It would be useful to say if you are still interested and add your name if its not on the list please? CraigplaysBass Evilundead Dominsomerset jimrs2k Tommyk Rasta 0175Westwood29 BottomE Thor Deaver Capt Rumble Mornats Pinballer Rich (tentatively) DI Joe Rexington? I make that 16 plus me and him too.
4.
Any news on a location yet ?
Location is really dependant on numbers, I don't want to hire a huge room ( that will have to be paid for) then find loads drop out! That is why I'm asking people to try and confirm if they are coming on the oft repeated list of names that follows this message. However the venue will be somewhere between Sherborne, Milborne Port and Shaftsbury, all along the A30 and not a million miles from each other......!
5. Imagine turning up at your local jam Session with the "Bee" Bass? There would be mayhem....!

Doubtless a few will have items they wish to sell, myself included (hint, it's a Squier)
8. The position of "Official Photograper" for this event is currently unfilled. Anyone wishing to apply for this prestigious post can do so on this thread....!
9. [sub]So a private listing and up to £435. These go on trade tang for about £300......hope the highest bidder realises it's a chinese "replica"[/sub]
10. The famed and self proclaimed "guitar improver" from the ebay section always talks about how he "waxoils the fretboard" on basses and guitars he sells. Not that I would have thought rustproofing your bass is remotely necessary......!
11. I'll be bringing : LMII and Traveller 2x10 cab, Godin A5, Kbass 5, Squier VM Jazz, Stagg EUB, and possibly Kbass4 headless EUB.
12. You can do a "bespoke" cover where you specifiy the dimensions and where all the holes and handles are at no extra cost. If it does not fit they are usually very good at replacing it.
13. Interestingly he did not give us the usual paragraph of guff about how he lowered the action to a micro wotsit. Also his trademark photo with the Bass shows him having lost some weight and looking a bit wooden....
14. Booked a parcel to be picked up through parcel2go via city link on Tuesday last week. Stayed in all day waiting for them and no pick-up. Around midnight went on the website and if they fail to pick-up you have to rebook for the next day. As I failed to do this till after midnight it wasn't picked up till Thursday. Beware!
15. Hmm, Ashdown in this months BGM say they test every unit that comes in from the Far East too....
16. "If you are after a moderately priced strong gigging bass?" Is this even a sentence?

20. "I often use the full boxed set as my 'keep me awake' music for long distance journeys in the car " Well, "if there's gas in the car......"
21. "BTW.... I only just worked out that you're now residing in Dorset sir... I couldn't work it out..... thought it was a strange and random act of kindness for someone from York's to be sorting out a bass bash down here!! " Shh, I don't like people to know I have knighthood, then they'd work out who I really am...."Mull of Kyn....."
22. Got some venues lined up, once we have a good idea of how many will attend we'll announce which one. Also looking at some special guests, more details to be announced!
23. You won't get a UK dealer to switch the voltage of one you bought in the USA for nowt but there is a sticky somewhere on here or do a google that shows you what to do. Obviously if you buy from the USA you'd invalidate any warranty by doing that yourself so it only works if you source one very cheap from across the pond, maybe second hand? Yes, voltage the same across the EU now give or take a few volts
