1. I organised all the Yorkshire Bass bashes so would be prepared to pitch in if required?
2.
Do you think we should ask if there are any more photo's! ;-) http://www.ebay.co.u...ht_58212wt_1086 Nice bass!
There's a very weird photo of the fingerboard with strings not running parallel....?
3. It's not a belt at 62" long but what's PU leather? It's plastic?
4. Now with added electro-acoustic 5 string Godin Bass!
5.
I noticed that, too... looks like it would be good for a nice cup of tea and sit down with the paper...
Have to disagree, more like for fine dining!
6.
I work in Insurance and i would highly recommend avoiding any insurance cover offered by Entertainment & Leisure (E&L). Or at the very least, study their policy wording letter by letter and make sure you know exactly what you are not covered for. They are notorious in the industry for borderline unfair contract terms and abysmal claims handling.
Good to know, never had to claim thank goodness but really only had it for the PL component.
7. It's a symptom of my advancing years that having noted the horror of the "Bass", I then wondered if they have a full set of the chairs and are they up for sale...?
8. Thanks for that, add to list of songs I'd like to do in the future!
9. [sub]Thanks for this thread, have realised The Gallery is ner but 5 mins from my daughter's new flat so will pay them a visit next time I'm up in London town.[/sub]
10. E&L (www.eandl.co.uk) used to cover us for £1.25m and about £1k of equipment for £50 in 2011. Stopped paying it when the band broke up...
11. Found out I was quite a few updates from MS behind, so seems to have cured it.
12.
I heard a rumour that he used to put inaccuracies in on purpose to see who was plagiarising his work.
No, I think he was framed.........
13. Poor toilets and delays getting in and out at a Festival...NSS?
14.
You got any pictures, im looking for something like this
Pm'd
15. I used to get a music magazine many years ago and Pete Frame used to do fantastic family trees in it. I wonder if he did one for "Family".....?
16. A Squier Strat and spend the other £1800 on another Bass.........
17. First Bass was a 1962 Gibson EB2 bought for me by then girlfriend now wife with £50 left from her grant (!) at the end of term in 1975. Sourced via BIL in Salisbury who knew some people, also got a Truvoice (Selmer T&B 50watt amp for another £50 too. At the time had not graduated but my first job in 1976 paid £33 a week.... Our first car together in 1976, an ex yellow PO Morris Minor Van cost £90.
18. Eric Weatherley was the guy who switched me on to Bass...who? He was a guy my age14- 15ish? at Walbottle School talking about music ( he hung around with quite a lot of guys much older). I suspect he may have been repeating what one of them had said but was saying how the Bass seemed to underpin everything in a song and how all the parts were different but fitted together and I thought, "that's how I feel about the Bass too" although I'd never articulated it. So thanks, "Wefty", you set me off on a 40 year journey fulll of quite a few Basses, false starts and current impotence, but I've enjoyed the trip! Oh, and Bassists who were heroes of the time included Colin Hodgkinson (saw Backdoor twice in the early 70's), Trevor Bolder (Spiders from M.a.r.s) and James Jamerson.
19.
I have come to the realisation that one should never use straight jacks, always use an angle jack.
Not sure what your rationale is for using an angle jack, could you explain why please? This is a genuine query as I've "been straight" for 40 years and never had a knackered barrell!
20. Bought a Godin A5 from Alex, accurately described, couriered next working day and very well packed. Do deal in confidence with this guy as great comms and as a bonus, he supports the Toon as well!
21. Over the last couple of days I'm finding that once I click onto threads I'm not connecting through and the little circle spins around, and around and around....Find I have to close and leave IE and start again- Is it just me?
22. [sup]Nice review: on the aesthetics side it is possible to turn the badge around by gently prising it off whilst heating it so when the cab is stacked vertically the badge sits horizontally, if you get my drift.[/sup]
23.
Hey guys, I recently got a Hiscox case with the Lakland that I traded over BC, but it seems to lock itself every time I travel with it (twice :/). This is a real inconvenience as it didn't come with a key. I have to pick the lock now so it's been moved into my spare gig bag. As I love the bass, I want to keep it in the case, but this problem is so frustrating I'm giving up... Any suggestions before I throw in the towel?
I'd be careful if you throw in a towel because if it is a tight fit it could cause some damage....
24. Just noticed on the Bass Gear Ltd site they have a Standard HR 410 and I've heard they do really good prices, if you are going for that combination.
25. Quite liked his Union Jack lining on his jacket mind....?
