1. This can't be any good...can it? http://www.gear4musi...-Gear4music/ENH
2. Imagine the airmiles in buying a UK built Trace or Ashdown Head from them?
3. Joking aside, I really don't see smashing the venue up as particularly clever way of resolving the matter.........
4. Happened to me, so went out and got them a dep band...who did a no-show......!
5. Something similar in BGM this month. Norman W-R is talking about getting a Bass made with a 45 year old piece of wood and the luthier using hide glue from way back when. He then says 90% of his sound comes from his fingers.......
6. My experience is if you can see the bloody thing flashing it really affects your performance and no matter how quiet you are it trips anyway. Take a feed from another circuit/room, it's the only way! BTW Hi John! Busy at work...?
7. Just read a humerous comment I made 4 years ago earlier in this thread.......it's still not very funny! I expect the curls in the cable channel the sound along that little bit quicker thus making it brighter......?
8. Remember (yawn) getting 3+3 when it came out and the next two albums after. They seemed to loose it a bit after then. I've not replaced my old scratchy vinyl discs with CD's yet so maybe I need to make a few purchases! Great music at its time and still sounds fresh now.
9. Can't believe no-one wants this, I'd have it if I was not going myself!
10.
Is this the one with PB Underground supporting?
No, it looks like RS Allstars with Sam Burgess on DB, although I've seen them a few times and never the same line-up...that could be why they are called "All-Stars"!
11. We went for Dining tables so I expect to be at FRP's crotch level all evening......am wondering if they will get all 10 on the stage or whether I should offer our table as an extra stage!
12. I seem to recall the Blues Brothers played some dodgy venues in their time......!
13.
I'm going on the friday...first show.
Pm'd!
14. Righty tighty, lefty loosey...in your case lefty loosey!
15. Just leave it alone, unless you want to spend loads of time matching the quality and colour of the original finish with what looks like a satin lacquer.!Time and money could be best spent on a new set of strings, no-one's bothered if it says "Squier" and when you come to sell it a no-name could be worth less.....
16.
Wow, now that's a line up, I would've loved to have seen that. My Dad bought that, which I quickly annexed It also featured Tower of Power and Graham Central Station. One of the best compilations ever.
Yes, I was gutted that TOP did not play that night, but there again I'm going to see them on Friday..... 30 years later!!
17.
Looks really good, did you resolve the strings/break angle?
Used better strings (thanks for the donations Daf and Keith). Have also got a camera monopod with a connector so I can use it free standing
18.
I'm going on the friday...first show.
Me too!
19.
It looks like the Endsleigh insurance only covers instruments. I've been insuring a minimal amount of gear with Musicguard mostly because it works out cheaper to get PLI included on that policy than to buy it from them stand-alone. I can't envisage a situation where the MG policy for the instruments would pay out. Has anyone found a cheaper way to get PLI?
I was with E&L and around £2k of equipment cost £60 premium and you got £1.3m PLI cover as well.
20. Remember seeing them in Manchester Free Trades Hall in the 70's. It was a Warner Bros Triple Bill of Montrose, The Doobies and Little Feat ( who I'd gone to see). It was around the time of Bad Motor Scooter, which they played.
21.
He could give ken bates lessons in how to treat your customers .
Has he sacked the editor, sold the best contributors and is hiding behind a foreign bank account?
22. Don't forget to use a mask with MDF... as you should with any wood.
23. Here's some pictures of the finished Bass. In moving I've lost a bag of bits containing drills, strings and things so the body rest is not finished. Luckily my Stagg one fits, that was a surprise!
