1. Just worth mentioning if you take something from a council waste site without permission, it is actually theft.......
2. Well I knackered my 19" alloys on the chuffin narrow roads and granite kerbs and believe it or not there was no parking outside the cottage either!(irony) Some of the main A roads were only 1 lane wide too! Also no TV so all in all whilst it was a lovely place and cottage I'm glad to be out of it. Unfortunately the MIL is in the early stages of dementia so it's a bit difficult here too, off up to London on the 30th for a few days with the kids.....
3. Actually Chagford did not work out and am back in Salisbury at the moment, and maybe going to London for NY
4. Just got a Roland Microbass from Martin. Well packed and passes the Ronseal Test! He should get a job as one of Santas helpers.....
5.
Dorset2finger?
Dorset 3 or maybe 4 finger when I remember or it's a bit tricky?
6. thanks for the info all. Chagford is just a temporary 3 week stint but thereafter it will be somewhere in Dorset, once we find a place to rent.
7. I've just sold the house in Yorkshire ( hence the name) and am moving South. We're staying at a friends house in Chagford (on Dartmoor) till Dec 27th and then looking for somewhere to rent, preferably in Dorset in the New Year and once we have an idea of the area, will buy. I've left my Band behind ( and my gear at Twyford) but if there is anyone who knows of any gigs / the music scene in and around Chagford or would just like to meet up, I'd be greatful to meet some friendly Basschat faces! I've never been to Chagford but I'm sure........!
8. My dad was really into 30's-60's Jazz but despite that I reckon I'm quite talented....!
9. What always used to amuse me in the reviews on an expensive Bass was the Plus and Minus ratings. The Minus ratings always referred to the high price of the Bass and how it was not in everybody's price bracket-NSS! Will there be any pedal reviews for left footers as well?
10. Blimey iBass magazine seems quite a bit more interesting than BGM! Can I swap my subscription over please...December's BGM leaves me a bit cold-mind maybe I just need to put the central heating on now?
11. So he should, that "There goes Rhyming Simonon" album is rubbish.....
12. [sub]Known Phil for quite a few years, deal with him with confidence, he gives great PX deals too![/sub]
13. Interested to see Scott Devine was on-we gave him his first demo gig at the Yorkshire Bass Bash earlier this year and he was very entertaining/interesting.
14. We had one at school and the Science Teacher used to get us to shock ourselves with it....
15. One thing I do find frustrating with these online mags is that the un-enlarged version is just too small for me to read and when you click on a page to zoom it, it then is so large you have to drag and shuffle it across the screen...or am I being a techno-numpty?
16. Nice review of the Mark Bass Randy Jackson Valve Amp and Cab. It's refreshing to see and hear someone reviewing who is not throwing all their chops at the Bass in a "look at me" style but just concentrating on what the Amp's features are and demonstrating them to the viewer, via some straight- forward playing. I notice Bass Gear at Twyford have the new RJ Amp and Cabinet in stock!
17.
Raise your hand and repeat after me. 'This is my bass. There are many like it but this one is mine. I picked it out of the many and I like the way it sounds. Others may not understand it. Others may not like the way it looks. Others may not like it's action or it's neck or it's tuners or it's pickups... but this is my bass and I will practice with it and gig with it and sweat with it until I am at one with the music. With it I shall take the drumbeat and add melody. With it I shall lock in and find the pocket. Guitarists may get the glory up front, the audience may hang on the singer's every word but without the bass there is no funk. Without bass there is no grind, no growl and no grunt. With my bass the music will rock. With my bass I shall lay down the low end and groove. This I swear.' Thank you, now call me Leonard Pyle!
Must be a Warwick........!
18. As always, Daf knows the correct question to ask!
