2.
Hi, Just bought a Stagg EDB off a fellow basschatter a few days ago and as soon as I got it home and tuned the G string the nut cracked and bit flew off, fun times. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? I've measured it as being 1 11/16ths inches in length (which I think is standard bass guitar nut length) but its the height at 9/16ths or 14mm which is obviously a lot bigger than bass guitar nuts. I'd be grateful for any suggestions Cheers Tom
Go to your local supermarket/petshop and buy a big fat dog bone. On a band saw cut off a section and gradually shape to fit. Cost around 50p! Or I can let you have piece of ebony to do the same to?
3. I expect Ruby has chewed it to bits and he just hasn't the heart to tell you.......come to think of it last time I was there Ruby was playing with this lump of old wood.
4. As the world is due to end in 2012, I guess the sellers are just trying to cash in......!
5.
Thats a real shame, both for me and Bass Merchant. I have been waiting a few weeks to buy this bass and the weekend before I am ready to buy, the price has gone up out of my budget. Talk about bad timing. I lose out as I get no bass and Bass Merchant lose out as they lose my custom and I guess Fender lose out also. I will call them on Monday to see what they say.
I think you are being maybe a bit too negative: reading between the lines people seem to be saying, ring the shop ( it was open today!) and try and negotiate a price. This price may be a lot closer to the old advertised price than you think! You've nothing to lose!
6. Penultimate gig with current singer and drummer, all welcome.
7. After another email exchange she told me she would not sell it to me for £50 and I should go to Gibson and spend £6000! I typed a reply pointing out some issues and then thought why bother, as I'd already reported it!
8. Yes just been on the Gibson site and don't see any at that angle. Here's a reply from the Seller to my suggestion that it was either too cheap or a fake... notice they don't really address the issue but try to suck me in... "Hi first come first served basis. Made in 2006 serial number 017160600. I have increased the price to 750 including shipping if you would like me to post it. Just let me know if your interested sorry to be so blunt but i sold it to a gut who doesn't even have the money and made me hold it for him for 3 days and now wants me to wait until his pay day. If your interested let me know? Kind Regards, Shaz"
9. Not sure if it's OK in this Lounge but I guess a Mod will be along to move it, if not..... http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/gibson-l...guitar/78858191 This has got be a scam, otherwise why sell a Genuine Gibson for £650 if you have gone to the trouble of adding all that info? I'm sure the guitar is not the only thing that's been "rebuffed"!
10. I think they recommend that the gain should be set just below the clip light coming on and the master adjusted accordingly. If you have them both "high" then you must be in a loud band....? When you say volume, do you mean what you can hear on stage or what the audience hears- as I understand they can be two different things. Don't use Barefaced cabs but the combination with a LMII you have is spoken highly of: I'm sure if you asked Alex he could explain in some detail if you may have an issue or not !
11. Excellent deal on a gigbag from Mr Jack of happy demeanor. He is a top (w)rapper too!

14. Serious question now ....do you think The Wurzels ( West Country band infamous for the ditty "Combine Harvester"), tune up with pitchforks or electronic pedal tuners? I'll get me smock.....
15. This ought to go in the "Basses for Sale" thread, I'm sure a Mod will be along to move it soon!

17. Just had a text from W. Wales, he needs a band for a wedding do tonight, very hush hush as the band he had booked have let him down. Anyone available in Central London, I think he's looking for Queen and Prince type covers.......
18. Offered only over this period of national rejoicing is this almost (Royal) mint Epiphone Thunderbird Bass Guitar. Sourced from a big Palace in London ( no names, no packdrill) it comes complete with newly fitted GHS B52's Boomers. There are one or 2 small dints around the back of the headstock and a larger chip on the top edge of the body but overall it's fit for a King! No electrical issues, all controls work smoothly, nice smooth fast neck and low action makes it easy to play. Having never played one before, surprised at the tonal range and sounds available. The Royal connection is through a guest at the Wedding (female singer, tall, big voice?) who recorded an album in the States which is where the Gibson equivalent of this Bass is made....! All this for a price of a bottle of Bubbly at Annabels: £100 Note: some of the Royal facts in this ad may not be totally true.....
