6. I went to see them at St Georges Hall (or was it the rock venue that closed whose name escapes me?) in Bradford many years ago, my first metal? gig 2 things struck me: one was the stench of smelly leather jackets/dope/BO from the fans, the other was the power drill solo. Didn't he catch his hair once? Oh, and BS was good to watch though not really my cup of chai
7. 8.
What's this stickery crazyness?
As you obviously have an assumed name, we give you a name badge so people know who you are....! (Adds Timloudon to list).
9.
hello! Last week I've tried some combos and heads Markbass. I was stunned with the sound of their products! I'm thinking get one Markbass TA 503 but I've never tried one (the specifications are what I'm looking for). anyone has or have tried one? or another Markbass head? This brand is very nice so I may consider buy another one (if this head doesn't worth it). Suggestions are welcome! http://www.markbass.it/products.php?lingua...t=1&vedi=65 Thanks! PS: sorry the bad english! lol I'm portuguese...
Nice Avatar, had to look twice!
10. however last time i met people off the internet there was screaming and woods and police.........oh the terror... and dogs?
11.
I'm hoping to come along to this, what's the deal regarding 'security'? if we bring our gear along, and then leave it lying around while we're drooling at other peoples, how do we know some scrote (from the general public, not a forum member obviously) isn't going to nick something?
This was a concern of mine at the last Bash and it proved to be ill-founded and I suspect there will not be many people just wondering in off the streets at this one. However at the risk of turning into Keith Lard (aka peter kay), H&S is everybody's responsibility so anyone not wearing a name badge is obviously a potential thief and should be challenged.......! I know some other measures are going to be put in place but to publicise them on here would be rather self-defeating! So, wear your badge with pride and remain vigilant!
12.
If you need tuner spares, you might want to keep an eye on this auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hohner-The-Jack-Head...emZ150324149639 Looking at the pics, are you sure that split isn't fixable? It looks like it only crosses a little way into the centre neck lamination, I think it might be worth having a go at glueing it up & clamping it. I'd strip off the hardware for a better look. Do you have any plans for the case? I have a B2A as my gigging backup & am always a bit nervous taking it out in its little PVC gigbag - it could do with some armour-plating! Jon.
Hi Jon Thanks for the heads up: the ebay listing could be a quick fix for the stripped thread on the D tuner string holder, the screw is actually fine. The split is OK from the front but at the back goes across at an angle and further in...I've taken everything off and it literally hangs together with the pickup frame screws. I'm taking it to the YBB so will sound out some opinions from the learned luthiers and others who are attending re fixability. If I do set the neck in a different shape body the case will be no good.....it really is bomb proof. I am 17 stone and could stand on it, just like someone did on the Bass I reckon! Cheers keith
13. 1962 Sunburst Gibson EB2 and loved the way the bass underpinned those Motown sounds, even in 1974
14. We played a friend's birthday in Victoria Hall, Saltaire. One important detail they forgot to mention was the Sound Meter on the wall: and no extension cable to run in another power supply! We tripped it once during "Crazy" so we all spent most of the 2 sets watching the meter hoping it would not trip out again! I taped over the grills on the meter but it did not seem to make any difference. The other detail they did mention was the lift was broken: 4 sets of stairs up to the first floor! The guy who plays the father of the new chav family on Corrie ( Steve Huison) was there, he has an act a bit like Borat which was quite funny, apparently he's played Glasto doing it too. Our guitarist lent him his pleck for his 3 string plucked thingy. Needless to say he's nothing like his character on Corrie!
15. Here's some photos of the broken bass: I'm thinking of doing a singlecut type body for it rather than the blocky original. This Bass and case can be viewed at the Yorkshire Bass Bash.
16. Do a search as there has been a discussion about this bass a few days/a week ago! Just realised it was you asking about it earlier in the other post, not having re-read it did'nt someone say it was OK?
17. You have to laugh, I clicked on another bass and the recommended accessory was a guitar stand at £79. Curiousity got the better of me at that price and it was this:http://www.reverb-store.co.uk/product-detail.asp?prod=906- multi bass stand, how did they know!!

19. I'll be bringing what's on me avatar/signature plus/minus the LMII depending on if I get it back from Playback by then. Oh, and my Hohner B2 4 string for a laugh as it is extremely unplayable currently......
20. I had a bit of a word with b2bm about this topic, his feeling was that everyone bring what they want (even if it means some duplication), as people are bound to set it up differently and it gives an opportunity to contrast and compare. Hope this helps! (Phil, as you are reading this feel free to contribute!)
21. Raffle Prize #3 7" single (45rpm) Whammy by Big Boy Bloater. Unused special edition from Mark Lamar, I sold my turntable http://www.bigboybloater.com/
