1. Is it because it is (almost) Jazz.....? I hasten to add we do it in our setlist and my timing is impeccable!
2. I sold one of these in the early 80's for £120.......!
3. Despite my tongue in cheek comment earlier re Dizee Rascal( which no-one challenged), I felt it was one of the better Hoots of the last few years. There again I like female singers so Duffy (perhaps overkill?), Lilly(less so) and Adele rocked my boat although La Lennox was way over the top IMHO. I'm afraid Kelly Jones may think he can sing soul with My Girl, but he ain't got it: to me he sang it like a rock singer with no finesse. Dizee Rascal with the bontempi organ backing was IMHO so out of place it was almost good, the Ting Tings left me cold, a sparkly top does not make a song. Sam Sparro was reasonable, the rest made no impression. Mind I dislike most things of a male rock genre, so anything leaning towards soul gets my vote: Martha and the Vandellas reminded me of Al Green recently on Later, not as good as they were but still better than most of what's out there. To compound my grumpy old man status (now 54), who the fcuk are these celebrities and what do they bring to the party? Al Murray, Lenny Henry, were they meant to be funny? All the above IMHO.........

5. Dizee Rascal was superb, the rest was crap.....
6. Bass clefts? Is this about Warwickhunt's arse? Cheeky....I of course meant 'clefs'
7. Nice bassist carpet mind, see all those bass clefts?
8. Hi I'll sell you a T151 cab if you are looking to add to the rig, makes it run at 500watts. It's the older narrower one so would look fine below yours as a mini rig! I've never used it, as the T210 I have is fine on is own. Looking for £320 or £340 with roqsolid cover.
9. I really would not encourage anyone to be sticking a screwdriver or similar into a live socket, earth or not! However, I've found the weakness in my AKG bug was the inputs from the amp, the jack gave up after around a year and the XLR is on its way out too, mind I do have a hefty jack to XLR convertor hanging out of it! They are very useful for allowing you to mix the sound when you don't have the luxury of a sound engineer.
10. and "Idle Hands" are named after our rehearsal space in Idle...
11. You may find this useful.... http://www.garywillis.com/pages/bass/bassm...etupmanual.html
12. I started with them and found the G&L Forum quite useful, and the Draymiles postings interesting too. There's a certain female from Newcastle who keeps them all amused too.......
13. You could always involve the Leith Police unless they...
14. Nice bass Ross but there's something wrong with your camera: it's only photographed 6 strings.....?
15. Sigh....well, its been about a week since we had the last bust-up. Chalk or cheese anyone?
16. Sold my G&L L 2500 to dave (bottomfeed). All the financials went through perfectly: he even stumped up toward extra insurance after I underestimated the cost of posting. I hope the bass becomes a valued member of his collection!

18.
Ok i have my heart set on an SX JB75CT NAT. I'm in Finland, and nowhere here sells SX basses. Rondo music in the USA wont ship to Finland. Does anyone know anywhere in Europe that sells them and would ship to Finland?
Try doing a search for 'SX', I think someone in Ireland stocks them?
19. A friend who runs a small music shop says all the new prices are coming through at least 30% up.
20.
Are Lancastrians allowed?
"Are Lancastrians allowed to come? " I think we have been there already... the answer was don't talk about football and bring plenty of bass gear we can confiscate at the border, as I recall!
21. Hey guys, I assume you are fluent in Japanese? Give him a break, even if the neck repair does look a little rustic!
22. Ah, I'm feeling the love! Thanks guys!
23. Are Lancastrians allowed to come? Only if they don't mention Football and bring lots of nice bass gear which we confiscate at the border!
