1. Nice looking Bass, I have an identical 5 string L2500 so have a bump on moi.
2. Goods have to be fit for purpose, the fact it almost burst into flames is a safety issue: I would be talking to Proel who I have always found to be very helpful.
3. A lacksadaisical performance should be enlivened at the break by checking your 9 v batteries in your active bass with your tongue......
4. One or two of you may recall that at the recent Yorkshire Bassbash, we were kindly donated a Tanglewood Bass, Gig Bag, Hard Case and Tuner by Rhino, and an Extreme Jazz Bass by Strings and Things/Beat-It Music in Baildon. A number of Raffle Prizes were also donated too. The Raffle raised £40, thanks to all who bought tickets and it was decided by those attending that we either auction or raffle the Basses on the Basschat site. The Tanglewood Electro-acoustic Bass was auctioned and the winnner at £200 was Paul Cooke. The Extreme Jazz Bass and Hard case was raffled and won by BassBunny, tickets sold amounted to £245 A Stagg Practice Amp was then kindly donated by Solo 4652, won by Bremen, we raised £35 in ticket sales. Each winner was asked to nominate a music-related charity and the following funds have now gone to Musicians Union Benevolent Fund: £125 (Nominated by Bassbunny) Nordoff-Robins: £120 (Nominated by Bassbunny) Drake Music: £200 (Nominated by Paul Cooke) Jailguitars: £ 35 (Nominated by Bremen) Basschat: £ 40 (Nominated by Yorkshire Bassbash) I'd just like to thank everyone who participated in the Bassbash, Raffles and Auction and reassure you all the money has gone to these Charities with the exception of Jailguitars: I'm just waiting for Billy Bragg to get back to me!
5. Charity gig in the Gala Casino for a local hospice (St Gemmas) in Leeds. Rolled up at 6.30 ( agreed time) no other band member in sight ( for second gig in succession) so loaded in all PA, Lights and own backline on own. Eventually others turned up, soundchecked and did 2 low key sets, average age of audience (who were only there for the buffet and raffle) 65, I'd say. Youngest daughter came up from London with partner, this was first time she's seen the Trio so positive vibes there. After gig had words with colleagues regarding not only me booking/organising 95% of the gigs, constantly networking/publicising and storing, carrying and setting up PA and lights but being usually first to arrive and last to leave. It seems the more you do, the least you get appreciated.....however there was an offer to take 2 satellite speakers off me for the future! The worry now is will they remember to bring them to the gigs.....?
6. Interestingly he reckons by putting a note in the case saying "thanks for the loan buddy" he can get around the import/vat issues that arise when sending stuff from outside the EC. At some point they will twig as he had a huge loan collection............
7.
does anyone have a link for SX - I do like their 70s look jazz. Do they actually sound like the real thing?
Yes on the link: http://www.rondomusic.com/bassguitars4.html I'd check on here and TB re sound, I'd suspect no, most seem to at least mod the PU
8.
I thought i may aswell put this up for trade properly now as i have nothing better to do with my life! Most of you know that both of these are able to punch WELL above their weight (pun intended) but i just fancy a change. Im really not after cash unless i have another rig lined up. Im happy to trade both for a good quility head with a little cash my way. Anyway, Markbass Little Mark II

450 watts at 4ohms
dead light
very usable filters (mid scoop and vintage emulator)
And Schroeder 1212R

2x12 compact cab
1000watt power handeling (not a typo, Itll hold its own alright!!)
4ohm
comfortable one man lift
fully adjustable and very musical horn
Heres a shot of it in use at Glastonbury behind our very own synth player and in my room, showing you the miniscule size of this loud mother! I also wont be using the sennheiser freeport if i get a good valvey head so if youd like to incorporate that into a deal, just let me know! Cheers guys.
Can't believe you're a 17 year old male with a room that tidy, did you take that photo somewhere else?!!!!!
9. We had a picnic to play on Saturday and specified a gazebo and surge protected power supply. Needless to say it started to rain, the gazebo let a fine drizzle of rain through that you could not see but feel...cue disconnection of all equipment and swift move inside!
10. Having met Pete I think he deserves another bump, well at least his bass does!
11. I've retired today so this my farewell gig to people from work/home etc and should be a good do. We should have our real drummer in tow which is nice.....
12. Thanks for suggestions, we have someone lined up now.
13.
We're busy that night otherwise we would probably have done it for you - sorry that's no help but it does bump the thread up.
Thanks anyway...bump!
14. Like this...?
15. We (not my Trio) were offered a Doctor's Birthday Party yesterday on Saturday August 23rd in York and negotiated £500 for it. Unfortunately the singer had not marked his unavailability that weekend on our calendar, so it was only today he mentioned could not do it..... Consequently we need to give backword and would like to ring up the Client with some possible dep bands, who have to do a Soul-based set. Whilst I can't guarantee the gig, it would be good to offer some possible contacts. If anyone is fairly local and interested please PM me.
16. Go on, give us a clue, bet I can guess in 10.... Is it yellow and black? Is it little? Does it weigh around 7 lbs Does it have knobs? Does it have a serial number?
17. Kenny Gradney from Little Feat was playing one when I saw them recently at Holmfirth. Had a great tight sound.
18. Had it once been owned by Nancy Sinatra I'd be interested.....
19. I had briefly a Shine Telecaster- type( OK, I know they were actually Precisions) 4 String Bass which cost around £60 and I sold a bit later for the same. Had 2 passive MM type pickups and sounded good, well made , no issues, just not into 4 strings now. It was a good solid piece of wood too....
20. Fly Me to the Moon: Guilty Fever: Guilty We often do these with some unique and discordant bass notes however...
21. It went for £370 plus postage, I bet the winner if they go on to read this will wish they'd paid an extra £70 for a new one?
22. That's a very nice Bass (as I have played it). Have your first bump on me!
