  1. Going back to the original post title: "A penny for your thoughts" you've got around £1.02p currently.....
  2. Wasn't the 'Big Bang' mean to have a more driven sound, hence the name? Never used one myself however....
  3. Where have I seen that Verso headstsock design before....?
  4. Years ago we used to play at a pub that paid a reasonable £200 per band. A few months after when wewent back the landlord was no longer there but a new person was in place. We got £300 and when I remarked upon the increase was told the Brewery subsidised entertainment to the tune of £300 per week but the previous landlord had skimmed £100 of the allowance for himself!
  5. Refreshing to see someone post on ebay who doesn't BS and explains the reasons for the pros, cons and mods. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144290817987?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=4d953bc3d0f84da18fbf35db7666bb4a&bu=43124886098&ut=RU&exe=99323&ext=234175&osub=-1~1&crd=20211115014416&segname=11021&sojTags=ch%3Dch%2Cbu%3Dbu%2Cut%3Dut%2Cnqt%3Dnqt%2Cnqc%3Dnqc%2Cmdbreftime%3Dmdbreftime%2Ces%3Des%2Cec%3Dec%2Cexe%3Dexe%2Cext%3Dext%2Cexe%3Dexe%2Cext%3Dext%2Cosub%3Dosub%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid
  6. The revolutionary AMS CABINET SERIES (ADVANCED MODULAR CABINET SYSTEM) is another impressive display of engineering prowess from Markbass; created in a moment where value for money is more and more of increasing importance as in the current financial climate, the modular design of these cabinets allows you to customize your rig and to tailor your cabinet/s setup to suit your need and your budget. The AMS offers high build quality and super excellent bass sounds in a practical and portable package, starting from a single 10" speaker you can configure a 2x10", 4x10" (thanks to the optional AMS Modular Custom Cable) or 8x10" as well as for the 12" speakers. The benefits of such a system are clear: a modular cab system gives a player the flexibility to choose a small setup without investing in a big cabinet, but with option to add more speakers creating your personal setup, depending upon your application. The intelligence in design coupled with the portability, flexibility, and value for the money. key points > MODULAR DESIGN AMS modular design allows you to determining both your cabinet/s setup and its price, upon your needs, preferences and budget. > HIGH BUILD QUALITY AND SUPER BASS SOUNDS As always, Markbass cabinets are build of the highest quality and they efficiently reproduces a wide range of frequencies, delivering super bass sounds. > NEW SUPER TWEETER - CONCENTRIC DESIGN The new super tweeter featured in the H version of AMS cabinets is in concentric position with the speaker, it gives sweet and round highs with incredible definition and hi-fi clear tone. A very cool design solution that not only sounds and looks great but also allows to have smaller cabinets to stack, we also offer version without tweeter so you can build your balanced setup. So instead of me buying a 2 X 10 cabinet I need to buy 2 1 X 10 cabinets? Where's the advantage unless the 1 X 10's are less than half the price of a 2X10?
  7. Part of the show when I saw Holy Holy was TV talking about the different songs and how Bowie approached them..
  8. Visconti has and continues to tour The Man who Sold the World with a band he put together including Woody on drums and Glenn Gregory on vox called Holy Holy.
  9. Thinks it was a 'Harley Benson' and apparently he did the 'artwork/calligraphy' on the headstock himself.
  10. My legal team would like to point out I was at a Pizza Express in Woking at the time and I have no carnal knowledge of the talented nige......
  11. A few titles to jam with: In the Hall of the Mountain King, Don't Go Frodo, I Heard it through the Goldmine, Baggins Trousers, Beorn to be Wild.
  12. Basschat rubber washers work well too.....

  14. On the May one he says the reason the tuners are cut down progressively is so they get lighter towards the end of the headstock. This contributes to the 'perfect balance' TM.. genius! However on the June one they go the other way, so the headstock must be lighter?
  15. Interesting back story about the colour and NOS
