  1. Very sad news, he was a lovely guy. I heard earlier today from The Rev's post. Still trying to take it in.
  2. All this chat about it being a narrow nut...I have huge hands yet have no issues with mine (which is weird, -'different strokes' etc). Being a predominately Flats player I swapped out the Roundwounds for a set of LaBella Low Tension Flats which work OK although there are a couple of positions on the neck where the notes seem to disappear, I may have dropped the action down a bit too low? Regarding the presets there are tangible differences with the pickup position knobs and when the series is engaged, less so in a band situation re the tone settings I find. However I find it great for Open Mics and Jams when you walk in with a guitar sized case and they say 'we really need a bassist'....! To conclude, I was lucky enough to get get the Nordy Mute with mine which can give quite an upright sound if used economically.
  3. 9 volt? Get with it Grandaddio, we're onto 18 volts now!
  4. IBTL.... Please refrain from any comments which the MODS will use to close down this thread. Personally I think he's up there with Don Partridge (ask your Grandad) and Seasick Steve. Just noticed, is that a cut down sock over the microphone?
  5. I'd limit anyone washing my truss rods to around 5'6'' and only to use a barely damp cloth...
  6. He's overshot with his chainsaw or whatever he cut the nut slots with and gone into the fretboard too....
  7. Oh so quick to criticise, I bet none of you could produce and damage such a unique Bass and have time to author 3 bestsellers? I think the bass guitar buying public have missed a trick here, it was photographed in September 2021 and yet has still not sold......
  8. It's not clear from the original post by Barefaced if it was stolen from them or a customer. This might help in spotting it in the local Crack Converters.....
  9. 'Only going up in price'.......!
  10. or look at it from the right vantage point....
  11. Ever felt old Fenders were too heavy? Fill your boots!

  13. Re the new series of MB cabs, they are so new very few have had a chance to try them: the cabs are now very very light and the choice seems to be neo or ceramic speakers with different costs accordingly.
  14. Just been kicked out my local Pet Food Shop. All I did was ask the man behind the counter if he had fat balls.

  15. My experience when changing pickups has been the wires were just copper coated with plastic and no third layer which would have had to be metal based.
  16. Good spot, that would at least explain the bullet truss adjuster.
  17. especially with a home made bridge pickup installation. Yuk!
  18. Bullet truss rod adjuster and odd looking neck pocket numbers?
  19. https://caswells-strings.co.uk/product/stagg-electric-cello-and-electric-double-bass-stand/ £69.95 plus post Thomann £66 plus post
  20. Just checked and they must have just had 1 as now 'sold out'. You did well!
