  1. Here's one of my faves that I used to do, not sure how you categorise Scofield's playing?
  2. Well it's cheap enough: wonder if our fave Luthier will buy and customise it for people with fruit fetishes?😧
  3. I'd just like to say I was present at the Bash as the inlay fell out: at the time I did not realise the significance of that event. Now I am intrigued as to how a solution will be found.
  4. I had a Ninija 250 combo and a CMD 121P and the issue was the Ninja head is mounted on a shelf horizontally but the CMD head is mounted on its end vertically. I swapped them over but had to drill some extra holes in the case of the CMD head due to the screw holes not quite lining up. It was no biggy and I could have left it with just 2 screws holding it.
  5. I think it was for the Black Lace Bassist to play on 'Agado'
  6. It distracts them and then I can post another thread about Br*xit....
  7. It's literally 4 screws to remove the head from a CMD121P. You could do some easy checks by removing the grill and seeing if the terminals onto the speaker are loose. However the heads are not sold seperately as the one in a combo does not have a top plate. It is possible to coax a LMIII amp into the space but not all the screws line up without a little modification.
  8. No idea, but you could get your mate to unscrew it and see, they could be lucky? The one below would be fine. https://www.guitarbuild.co.uk/products/jb-1960?variant=499055977&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2018-12-15&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjfXHkqKq8wIVB7DtCh3GkQ2vEAQYBCABEgK3h_D_BwE
  9. Seen him on YT with Pomplamousse or Scary Pockets, like his headgear.
  10. I'd rather go blind than play a J Bass (That's me finished now)
  11. Tis true, all the steel required for strings is being re-purposed to make barbed wire to keep our borders secured....
  12. I'd carefully check the screw holes and see how they match up with a generic one. You could get one made but that's probably not economically viable on a £150 Bass. Equally a cheapo generic is not a huge outlay. The other issue may be the heel of the neck shape which may differ on the J&D to a generic one, you may need to do a little filing. Cheapest way is to buy a piece of Tort and make your own using the existing plate as a template but you need a few tools and some time.....
  13. Don't know if we could afford ped: I've heard he doesn't leave the house for less than £18.00.......
  14. They used to sell direct, it was them who started the thread but last time I looked at their website it did not seem public facing: Mojoke is your man to ask!
  15. Went to see them at Newcastle City Hall in the early 70's. My first experience of seeing people stoned ( led a sheltered life). Afraid the music kinda passed me by although seem to remember Dark Star from a live Glasonbury Album I had back then.
  16. The place we played at has been around 8 years in the making and continues to expand. It was a run down Country Estate bought by a South African ex Telecoms magnate and he has spent millions on it: all the infrastructure is money no object. Directly behind us is the Hothouse and slightly to the right is one of the 2 shops, a Deli. As you can see from the stonework, it is spot on. The Tent is not your usual gazebo in the rain and there was an even larger one hosting the BBQ . There is a Country Hotel on the grounds too, I think it is around £1000 a night! They produce a lot of the food for the Restuarant on this site and the Hotel in the grounds and also do Buffalo Gelato, press their own Cider Apples and have a Massive Winery. They even bake their own bread using the apple skins from the cider waste for the sourdough! It's well worth a visit, the annual fee is £48 but that gets you into Blenheim Palace and Chatsworth too along with free entry to lots of other events. https://thenewtinsomerset.com/garden
  17. Well Sterling is almost worthless compared to a full blooded Musicman anyway....?
  18. We did 2 gigs over the weekend at The Newt in Somerset, which is a visitor destination near me in Bruton. It was billed as a 'Deep South BBQ and Broil' and the place was decorated with gourds and pumkins, you can see some on the barrel, front left of the photo. Saturday saw a small rain shower when we were playing which meant moving our PA speakers under the tent but Sunday was beautiful and we had the added bonus of a PA provided (unknown to us). The band who followed us were a trio and their Bass player could not travel: I only found out after we had stripped down and my backline had been taken away in the van, I would have been happy to help out. The photo is from Sunday and our singer/harmonica player has gone on walk-about and banjo player has his back turned!
