  1. Life imitating art ( if you call my feeble attempts at humour, as 'art'
  2. I had a Stagg EUB some years ago which looks similar and Stagg also sold a stand for it, but don't know if it is still available?. It was nice and sturdy and around £50 at the time. Just had a look on the Stagg website, it shows the EUB but not the stand but there may be some still floating around.....? Aha, found it under orchestral: https://staggmusic.com/en/products/view/SVEDBECL-foldable-stand-for-electric-double-basselectric-cello/
  3. Just don't put it too near your mouth...
  4. You need to stop fretting about stuff like this
  5. Sounds as if there is a problem as I have a CMD 121P which I occassionally link to a NY121 cab to no detriment to either. This then takes the ouput from 300W to 500W which is what is designed to happen.
  6. I have no skin in the game but saw this.. https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/right-handed-bass-guitar/fazley-fpb218sb-fr-fretless-electric-bass-guitar-sunburst Might need a set of cheap flats too?
  7. Cheap for a 78 until you read the details but a good player. Assume it comes with the OHSC although not specified as such.
  8. £50 off new price too! https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Mark_Bass_Little_Marcus_1000.html
  9. So let me get this right, you have a midlife crisis and buy a Ricky.......?
  10. Not the fullest of descriptions, assume it's a 15" speaker?
  11. The band I was 'asked 'to leave from just before Christmas after 6 years was a dictatorship with non of the benevolence. I found myself getting very frustrated by the sheer lack of ambition which the band leader displayed, from choice of material ( she would not listen to anything sent to her electronically like a YT link, she had to hear it on the radio) to booking gigs ( which she alone insisted on doing) to band clothing ( we had to all wear black of which she wore the shabbist and most washed out black t shirts) to how we sounded. My penultimate gig with them was a festival, she cancelled the rehearsal beforehand to go on holiday and at the gig used half our small 300 watt rehearsal PA as the main rig for a large room in a pub. One speaker was on a pole for the audience, the other she used for her foldback for her vox and Telecaster! Lead guitar, banjo and bass were all our own backlines and the sound was a mess. I noticed the headliners had their 1K each side cabs already in position! Oh, and that's not to mention the studio time we spent in the spring( 4 days) and the money we paid to record new material which mysteriously never got the vox laid down on and the CD's we were going to sell at gigs. Ironically a new venue opened near me and I went in ( as I knew she never would) and did a full PR job for the band and got us a booking 3 weeks ahead. 2 weeks later I got sacked...! The 'crime' I got accused of was suggesting 'if we do what we always do, we get what we always get' and shouldn't we be more adventurous...? That was interpreted as gross treason by the bandleader and I was served my immediate notice!
  12. Interesting but I felt there was a lot left unsaid. Am I right in thinking a 'signature bass' might mean you get it for free or do you actually pay for it? Or do you get a payment on every signature bass that is sold subsequently? I just don't feel the rationale behind a sig bass was fully explained , especially when he talks about them being made cheaper by CNC with Fodera which they declined to do. This video seems to be less about the bass and alluding to more about the finance, he says so himself when he talks about going to F Bass and just buying a bass and not getting into all the other stuff.
  13. Don't skimp on the actual Speakons either, plenty of cheap ones around which (IME) stop working after a few years. Go for Neutrik or similar.
