Can't think why it is up so high, they screw down into the body either with a spring inbetween or the pickup sitting on foam so would not think it's an issue. Nice Bass too!

Yes, seem to recall selling it to you. Like I say have seen them with the bridge at a slight angle to compensate a bit more on the intonation, its usually top E that is out so angle accordingly if flat or sharp.

I had a similar issue when I had mine and you could see where the bridge inserts had made indentations nearer the bridge pickup as the previous owner had tried to set the intonation. I lived with the slight intonation outage ( was on flats) but moved mine on having never tried setting the bridge at a slight angle to the strings to help cure it.

I feel your pain seeing them stuck out on the edge of the headstock, I go 'stealth' and attach mine the other way around so all you see is the clip on the headstock and all the gubbins are on the reverse side. I pull the fascia up 45 degrees, tune and then flick it back down so it lies parallel to the back of the headstock.
