  1. Regarding Gear4M, one can only assume for EU orders they now have a warehouse in the Netherlands, as I suspect much of their gear comes in from China via Rotterdam so it makes sense to avoid too much double handling. As for UK orders, a couple of years ago when I bought from them last, it was UK sourced, as was the Customer Service Team but maybe they have now out-sourced all to the EU as well? You used to be able to visit their store/warehouse outside York: when I lived in Yorks I made a few visits. I'm sure Ped applied for a job with them in the past so he may know a bit more about it as part of his extensive pre-interview research....?
  2. Dan knows what he is talking about, he's older than most of the guitars he works on! If you think about it , by clamping the neck as he shows, and loosening the truss rod, you are taking off the tension and enabling a little more adjustment as you are not fighting the bow in the neck. You may not even need washers? (This may be me talking bs however re washers) I have heard of others who with a twisted neck have clamped it for some time and then gradually tightened the truss rod and clamped it some more but that is not the issue you have.

  4. They are, just on the doorstep of a certain guy who owns a bassguitar users website.... but they have a european side to to service the EU and beyond
  5. Can a bass with AI now be far away? How far away would you like it? I'm a 116 miles away, is that far enough....
  6. Collection only in Carrickfergus would have affected the number of potential buyers I guess?
  7. Here we are with Black screws, although some look silver in the light!
  8. Looks good, obviously keeps the handle looking stock too. I think with postage it would probably double in price for the UK however.
  9. Hopefully a mod will be along to move this to the right lounge, the 'Questions' mentioned above are re Site issues, not Bass issues. I can see you are new so an easy mistake to make so yYou could ask the question again in the 'Bass Guitars' Lounge for a better chance of any response! Oh and Welcome!
  10. Yes, I was thinking about changing all the knobs too but black screws are a bit "stealth" in that they mostly blend nicely into the Blackburst...
  11. Would get more views if the Seller had said it was a Hiscox and also (if they knew) what fitted it. Bit hard to tell but it does not look like a standard Fender type internal configuration, looks too rounded?
  12. I don't like the totally bare look because of the screw holes but this is OK but I need to take it off and fettle it a touch and clean the dust from behind it too! I'm hoping for new slippers this Christmas...
  13. Here I am almost naked....cheapest one yet, just an A3 sheet of Perspex, 2mm thick!
  14. These lot do them though not always in stock http://www.bachmusik.com/en/music-instruments/bass-guitars/model-bach-bpb-60

  16. Slightly more left field but a member on this site https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Guitar-Custom-G-L-ASAT-Fender-Telecaster-Schecter-Baron-Hybrid-Tribute-Copy/324391458858?hash=item4b873cd82a:g:07sAAOSweR9fv3pa
  17. There's a few here, if not an exotic wood supplier? https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=figured++wood&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=+figured+thin+wood+
  18. It's an easy change, just remove the grill and speaker and drill 4 holes. If the wadding comes loose, just stick it back again. Needless to say I waited to do this until after the warranty ran out. The handle sellers do a number of colours including black with different colour stitching too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=1Pack+Amplifier%2FSpeaker+Vintage+Leather+Strap+Handle+Part+Durable+&_sacat=0
  19. Whilst I'm happy with my MarkBass gear (MM101Combo, CMD121P Combo and NYC 121cab) I've had issues with handles, not only the rubber breaking down over the metal innards even with little use but also with the aesthetics. On the 101 it is short, tight and very difficult to hold too if you have big hands! I had a short-lived daliance with a MB Ninja Combo and thought the leather handle added a touch of class and was much easier to hold too. So scanning the internet one evening I came across some very affordable pleather handles which I've added to my 101 and 121 Combos. They are not so clever on a cab because if you have to stack on top it stops them lying so flat. However you get all the parts with the handle including the inner sockets which attach themselves into the wood so they don't vibrate free. This is the handle on the 101 Combo. On this, the existing holes are covered, on the 121 it comes up a little short but rather than fill the holes I just reinserted the old handle's screws into the holes and it looks fine.
  20. Can't find it on Google Image search nor at Gruhns, not even in their archive. An appraisal costs $250 for a 1965 Fender P however there.
  21. Take an empty Lenor bottle....
  22. Not sure the OP suggested taking any litigation, it was other contributors to the thread who brought the subject up. The OP's initial post stated the facts and said he was posting to warn others and as constructive feedback to Alex and that he did not want to get into a war of words.
  23. Anyone done a Google search with the image and seen where it has been culled from?
