  1. Nice bass but is that a Banksy on the wall?
  2. Welcome to BC Second pickup is not original and will have a detrimental affect on the price now. By how much, depends on the buyer. If there are lots about unmolested and in better condiiton then it will be worth much less. As you are in the USA, there will be more around than over here. Decent ones seem to be around $5000 upwards, I would not like to say what yours is worth. I bought a 72 Telecaster Bass which had a similar modification i.e an extra pickup. I've since returned it to stock but know its value as 100% original is affected.
  3. 'Is this one of the best thread derailments ever' - I see what you did there....
  4. Not mine but there's a CMD121P in the ads for £375...
  5. I see with the bodies you can buy a 100mm x100mm wooden repair block for an extra £3.50... assumes you have a router handy.
  6. Think the tea-leaf must have had a fork lift nearby...
  7. Looks nice but that truss rod routing would result in me sending it back for an exchange!
  8. My daughter has got accutely sensitive hearing, when she lived in a shared house she could hear stuff that she was not intended to hear which the others would not believe until she relayed it back...
  9. I had a perplexing issue with a recent second-hand Bass acquisition which had an annoying grounding 'hum' issue. The seller was first class about it but I was unsure if the issue was with the Bass Manufacturer or the retro-fitted pre-amp. I tried checking the continuity but was getting odd readings. I contacted Status and John East who both replied and got a 20 minute follow-up call from John this afternoon (as he confirmed it was one of his) on top of the 2 calls today where I'd rung him. The shielding in the control cavity had broken down around the shaft holes which I could not see until the circuit modules were removed. So John went well beyond the 'extra mile' considering I was not the original purchaser of the pre-amp and there was nothing wrong with it anyway! I know it's been said before his Customer Service is legendary, I have proof of that. P.S. I found it was better to ring him as he gets loads of emails....
  10. Interesting price and that the photos were taken on Bonfire Night: surely 'Flemish' should be spelt 'Phlegmish'? IBTL
  11. Probably have written it off but just trying to squeeze more out of it, they ask silly prices for what is for most people, firewood.
  12. Reading the long winded explanation from the Seller regarding its condition and provenance, they appear to be 'covering their back'....
  13. Think you are all wrong, it will just be their Christmas Advert.....
  14. Yup, just seen that bit, he was just going when RD handed him the mic again so he could announce the song, sung by PT, behind blue eyes
  15. Just watching the Who live at Kilburn. Can't take my eyes of Keith Moon's drumming...mesmirising

  17. For those without Sky, Freeview now hosts Sky Arts, so loads of decent Music stuff!
  18. Remember seeing The John Miles Set, either at Newcastle City Hall or the Mayfair Ballroom in the very late 60's or early 70's. This was way prior to "Music' and his Tina Turner work.
