  1. Just thought it looked a bit knackered and shonky and about £7.00 too much?
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-guitar-lead-coil-lead-white-used-if-new-these-are-24-99-so-bargain/303256055174?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40732%26meid%3D500cdbb4f7f24d1fb71b0b8002e3e4d5%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D303256055174%26itm%3D303256055174%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Acb69716c-fe73-11e9-969c-74dbd180f6a3|parentrq%3A32d59a6716e0a9cd81ea50f3fff74366|iid%3A1 I don't use anymore Has been used so not as white anymore Fully functioning Some coil may be stretched in parts than other See fotos
  3. The go-to answer for any Ashdown problem is to contact them direct, they are also members on here too. Everyone speaks very highly of them, including Joe Pasquale...
  4. Afraid I always record it and fast forward a good 75% of it.
  5. All will be revealed on Bonfire Night...didn't Gibson burn a load of Les Pauls?
  6. I have for sale my lovely Blueburst Chowny CHB1 Bass which I bought at the S.W. Bass Bash earlier this year. Am only changing it for a Gretsch Electroline. This was an early edition Bass with the 34" scale and all I have added are some flatwounds to it. It looks very pretty with a nicely flamed maple top. Condition wise there is a small ding on the top horn, a couple indentations/scuffs where the bridge was incorrectly sited, and a pin prick in the lacquer by the control knobs. She plays very well and benefits from a strong central block running through the body for sustain. It comes with a Chowny padded gig bag and the original roundwound strings should they be required. I am prepared to carefully double box this and send by Basschat's recommended insured Courier should the buyer wish. This really is a bargain compared to the cost of a new Chowny but I bought it at a good price and am happy to pass it on with added flatwounds for the same. The photo of the rear of the Bass seems to show as scratch to the r/h side of the flash flare, it is a reflection from the window! Any questions , please PM me.
  7. That was the custom Leslie 'Henry' version.
  8. Ben from Crimson Guitars brought a plexi prototype for Charlie Jones to a Dorset Bass Bash some years ago. The neck was (as said) plexi too and it did 'flexi', so much it was unplayable. But it made a nice conversation piece....!
  9. Might have been even funnier if he'd said 'an angry rectum', thus hinting he knew about the harmonica incidents...?
  10. The Bassist on this weeks show with Michael Kiwanuka has a nice early Pbass with the biggest wedge of foam under the strings I've ever seen! I fast forwarded the show after that...
  11. Means you don't need to 'dig in' as much, so yes you can play lighter and also many who have them to play faster too. Often found on 5 string 'Jazzy' type basses. Also very useful for loading an Ampeg fridge into the back of a Vauxhall Corsa hatch....
  12. I'm sure the average punter does not even notice: Markbass... they couldn't even identify Mark Owen!
  13. Navajo, I suppose that is near enough 'cowboy'?
  14. 'The difference between a strat and a telestrat is more emotional than actual yet people do find that one gives them something that the other doesn't.' The opportunity to write more B.S. perhaps......?
  15. 'I'm selling my 2 year old Vintera Bass', thought they only came out this year? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Vintera-Series-50s-Precision-Bass-MN-Vintage-Blonde/163921509897?epid=21033713761&hash=item262a7bbe09:g:lj0AAOSwNw1dqVfW
  16. Don't disagree, but want to keep this thread going rather than it be locked😉!
  17. I think it's fine to call out his shonky 'conversions', and his creative descriptions.......maybe not so cool to wish him severely injured or worse 😉?
  18. Did an hour set at an Apple day in Castle Carey this afternoon in bright sunshine. Lost count of the number of people who said 'It's a good job you didn't play yesterday' as it poured down. No sign of Yoko and we were missing our electric guitarist, but banjo and acoustic guitar filled the sonic space adequately. Lots of Cider stalls plus a Sheeps cheese stall just by the steps we played on. No sign of H either.....
  19. Surpised Damon Albarn has not snapped it up then...
  20. Usually between the Amuse-bouche and the Hors d'oeuvre as there's often a lot of dead time between the courses. Only yesterday I converted a guitar I rescued from a skip into an instrument suitable for all hand sizes with its 'gnats chuff' action and smooth frets. Whilst the sound of my Dremel did admittedly cut across the friendly conversations between Boris and Stephen (who were dining with me), I was bored stupid with their exhortations of 'man up'. Later, we all went out for a walk as Boris was interested in looking into ditches. Mods. the Boris and Stephen who were my house-guests were from our local skittles club, often come for tea on a Saturday night and are not the Boris and Stephen you may think. Fun fact: my surname is Barclay
  21. Somewhere it was mentioned he'd had a hang-gliding accident, which may explain a lot and give us some perspective? Fun Fact: we have some of the same white rubber table protector he uses, only we bought it to protect our dining table from scratches.
  22. He could buy a piece of bone for £1.00, cut and shape around 3 nuts from it and gain some respect too.....! Doubtless there would be paragraphs of hyperbole in his descriptions thereafter however.
