  1. Had to admire Amyl making her boots from black gaffa tape, but probably not the right venue for their type of performance.....
  2. So he got it for less than £90 ( as it was damaged), damages it even more and puts it up for £171. Genius! He's obviously taken off the finger board, rammed in a new truss rod (dual action wow!) Oh, and I've looked everywhere for the tuner 'don key' but cannot see it, can anyone help?
  3. Fender flats work for me, around £25 a set, there are cheaper brands on eBay and many recomend Labella which I think are nearer £50 too.
  4. He's made a £50 neck almost worthless with his tinkering, not only is his hand-drawn logo crude and amateurish, he's put an angle on the headstock face: why? Still at least if he's on his jollies in Cornwall's as he claims, the flow of his frankenbasses is temporarily halted. Doubtless eBay will go bust....
  5. Do a search in the For Sale lounge.
  6. and obviously your elf may be asking for some holidays prior to and over Christmas...
  7. Pretty sure it was listening to the Four Tops 'Reach out and I'll be there' at the school disco circa 1968. James Jamerson on Bass, although it took me another 20 odd years to know that and appreciate his whole catalogue.
  8. Some time ago I bought a 'display only' LIneone Variax 5 string bass from them for £500 and sought assurances as to its condition before purchase. Was told it had been in a display case and was as new. It arrived minus the correct power supply, special cables , manual and had clearly been played heavily. Had to contact Lineone in this country to get the missing pieces before I could use it as Thomann said 'tough'. Thomann's attitiude towards me, both on the phone and by email was combative rather than helpful and after a month of getting no-where with them had to contact their CEO before they would come to an agreed outcome. More recently bought a Squier VM Jazz ( or might have been a P!) from them, it had finish/paint flaws which I clearly photographed on receipt and asked for a replacement. They offered me a 10 Euros discount if I kept it. It seemed their default position was to offer money off rather than supply an inspected item correctly in the first instance. Forgot to mention, despite them being in stock and me sending very clear photos of the issue, they made me return the Bass, have it checked before they would send a replacement, so had to wait another 10 days. Having bought B stock and Decos from them too, I recognise items may have faults/ blemishes but don't expect a full price item or something described 'as new' to be shonky!
  9. Good spot, he'd never have a Router as that's what proper Luthiers often use!
  10. On the end credits, a guitarist is credited for playing, who'd have thunk it?
  11. Sorry to rain on this parade but I've had mixed results over the years with enough disappointing experiences to think they were not just a one off. And a 10 euros credit is not going to tempt to me to keep something that has paint flaws.....
  12. Thanks for the info guys, I'll get there for 7.00.
  13. Anyone been to the Thekla Bristol before? Trying to get info from them re what time acts start. All the info says is 'doors open 6.00 pm' but not when acts go on stage. Tried emails and phone to no avail. So anyone been to a couple of gigs there and can say when acts usually start please? FYI going to see Durand Jones and the Indications on Tuesday night
  14. Bet it's good for Metal and german electronic music like Can
  15. Why didn't this clip ever go viral on Basschat Maybe 'cos he was palying a Rickenbacker?
  16. As someone else has said also, I meant going up to people at said events above and asking them if they are in a band etc etc.
