  1. Be good to get some kind of similar deal going for the UK too.....?
  2. Yes, got mine this morning and thought about going......
  3. Played a Harvest Festival celebration last night with Hello Hopeville at Somerset's newest visitor attraction: https://thenewtinsomerset.com/visit-our-garden We were in the Threshing Barn, a huge space with 100 guests sat on benches enjoying a £45 a head meal. In the centre of the room, hung from the roof was a huge grass and wheatsheaf, built in a cylindrical shape and we were at one end of the room, just to the side of a huge wooden apple (they grow their own cider and eating apples). Originally asked to just top and tail the evening( non intended food pun), we ended up playing a good 2.5 hours background set as a huge feast was brought out for the guests who shared loads of food, all organic and mostly grown on site. After the desserts went out, we were invited to eat along with the staff, highlights were bar-b-qued potatoes and corn on the cob, cavallo nero, hazlenut and artichoke stir fry, and baked apples with cider custard. Carnivores were catered for with huge chunks of beef.
  4. Don't live in the Smoke and not used them but pretty sure SIMS have been recommended before: https://www.sims.guitars/spray-shop/overview
  5. I felt the stock pickup was a little lacking so got this made by Oil City. Has a bit more bite than standard even though I'm on flats so a bit self -defeating! This is a Blue Flower Japan re-issue based on a 68 so contoured sides.
  6. Doesn't look like the guy who did Graceland.....😉
  7. That's Jeremy Meek on Bass, played with PC for some time now.
  8. and there's an endorsement opportunity that needs no pondering!
  9. Following a review of a concert in Mojo, have just booked a ticket to see Durand Jones and the Indications in Bristol in October. Not just another retro-Soul band ...
  10. Tex Comer....back in the day when we didn't have the internet, everything shut on a Sunday and there were only 3 channels I used to scan the record sleeves for hours.

  12. Don't think any company will own up to their stuff being made in a sweatshop, but it has been proven in the rag ( clothing) trade that even with loads of 'accreditation' much of what is made is produced in working conditions and with young workers that would make us blanch in the UK. Even iPhones which are made in China by Foxxcon have been in the news recently where they have been taking students on placement ( and the students have no choice if they want to pass their course) and making them work crazy hours for little or no money. I cannot see these Glarry's being made in anywhere but China at that price...
  13. Hope this does not appear patronising but do you realise PC was the original singer of this back in the day with Ace? He had more hair then, I saw them at Bradford Uni early 70's.
  14. Just read a feature in Mojo about the new album. Apparently Townsend, Zac and Pino did all the music together in 1one studio but Daltrey recorded his vocals elsewhere. Also when they Tour, Pete and Roger travel seperately and only meet up just before they are going on.
  15. Try posting on here! https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/22-items-wanted-no-trades/
  16. Really quick actually. I went to my Bass folder on the Computer, clicked on it , selected the photo and posted it! Actually can't take any of the credit, seem to think it was off Talkbass many moons ago, so I literally drag it out whenever the subject arises. It seems to have a sticker on the rear left hand side, so that might imply it was a manufactured item?
  17. All the gear from the Seller in their shop seems to look like they've just licensed a load of Ali-Express items, even down to the shonky photographs. Dubious?
  18. Hi Mick Might sell better on here if there was more info about it (for those who can't be bothered to look up the power output it's 1200 watts at 4ohms and 750 watts at 8 ohms) 😉
  19. If it is genuine any remedial work on it will affect its value negatively. You speak of the 'paint checking' : many try to replicate this to make a Bass look older. However it looks as if the paint may not be original as I think I can see the indentations for bridge cover holes are covered in paint: if this was original paint you would either see wood in the screwhole or no indentations if the bridge cover was not fitted from new. Just do as others have suggested re the pickguard and chrome knobs, an old bass does not have to look perfect!.
