1. Mmmmm Lovely
2. Whats the string spacing at the bridge on this please? Cheers!
3. Hey guys. So due to lack of activity in my stoner rock band. I have decided to go in a different direction in as far as ampage required. I am looking for a lightweight Combo, Max budget of 4-500 new or secondhand, cheaper the better. Looking for something along the lines of a great burpy tone. ( I could use sooo many subjective terms, I find it difficult to get the idea across, so I will post a video or two.) Would be nice if I could get a matching extension cabinet as well in the future. I guess what I am saying, is it possible to get an approximation of this sort of tone with lightweight combo class D equipment with the apparent amount of air being shifted?
4. Wow that is in amazing condition for the age!
5. Tentative PM.
6. I work for a school in Chelsea where I could get a decent rate. However parking is limited. Ie no dedicated spaces. Lots of pay and display. Isn't it free on a Sunday usually? I also have contacts in my old school in the southfields/wimbledon area that definitely does have parking. A little cold there though!
7. Bump! Lots of offers so far but not quite the right amount of cash I need!
8. Just weighed the bass up on the bathroom scales and comes out at just under 8.5lbs which makes this lightweight for a 70's Fender, or any Fender for that matter!
9. There is a lot of high end stuff flooded in a stagnant market. Either the real special pieces sell, or the usual Fender/Musicman combos. The 1977 Precision I have for sale has had a few PMs put in my way, and I could have easily traded out for something by now. But I am waiting for something to catch my eye, or someone to offer a trade with more cash then trade value. Swings and roundabouts. There is not much free cash flying about, so people who do have it are shrewd and buy things that will sell fairly easily.
10.
This is lovely! If someone buys my Overwater soon I'm right on it! :-)
Of course I could just nab your Musicman on part ex if you like
11. I wouldn't mind taking your P or J in part ex for it ;-)

SOLD

Hey guys. Up for sale or trade is a Fender 1977 Precision bass. Looks like an ash body, rosewood fingerboard, pretty lightweight considering most of the late 70s lumps I have played. Has a lovely low action. It is all original apart from the Schaller 3D bridge, brass nut and the Seymour Duncan SPB1 vintage pickup. This is an AMAZING sounding bass, I was ABing it between 20 other basses in the shop before I picked this one. Bags of growly tone. The tone control really does work well in this bass. It also comes with Dunlop strap pins, I will include the original pins with the sale. Also comes with a very beat-up non original hardcase. The body, neck and frets have been played, it's obviously been gigged fairly regularly at some point. The truss rod is A-OK with loads of available turns to tighten the rod (Not that it needs it). I am looking to trade it out for either a maple fingerboard P bass of the same year, or part exchange for a cheaper bass plus money, only really looking for passive Fenders or active Musicman Stingrays, maybe some sort of 6 string bass that will lend itself well to Gospel funk, oddball 70's stuff will get me as well. Also looking for a cheapish combo, Maybe a TC BG series, want lightweight really. UPDATE: Looking for £400 at least in any part exchange deal. Must be as lovely a player as this. The bass will be put up for trade at Wunjos on the weekend if I don't get a decent offer. So hurry! I will take a CASH price of £1000. Trade value is still at £1100. I am based in London Wimbledon and would much prefer local pickup. I can travel a little way to do a deal. Cheers.
13. I'll have my rosewood necked 77
14. Might be good to have a P-bass corner and a couple of amps to test all the various P's in one place? Would be interesting to feel the variations.
15. Hey guys. I am after a Maple Fender P neck, preferably a 1977 to replace my 77 Rosewood one. Mine has seen some fretwear but has been properly dressed and feels buttery smooth to slide up. Anyway, I am willing to trade my rosewood neck for your maple one plus cash your way. How much depending on the condition of the neck. Cheers! R
16. Thats a serious 6 string collection, with such a lovely Wal there, I wonder what bass you eventually picked?
17. Would anyone be ok for me to put my P bass on their display? Managed it for the past few years but I am unable to bring a rig otherwise :/ Would appreciate it muchly!
18. As someone who has been involved with a lovely Turkish Cypriot lady for a while, this is another small step towards north Cyprus being recognised. ^^
19. I was at the counter when you tried that I was waiting for my bass to come from upstairs.
Popped into Wunjos before our gig yesterday. Guy in there saw me looking around, asked if he could help. I said I was just browsing as was in the area, playing at The 12 Bar later. So he asked if I wanted to try any basses out. I said I wasn`t buying but he was fine with that, so I tried a Rick 4003 (really nice it was too). So great attitude from Wunjos, and some really nice basses in there.
20. Picking her up today. Can't wait!
21. I found the pups on mine to be very good. Loads of output and a healthy grind to it if that's your kinda thing. It was a little noisy but not unworkable noisy.
The build of the Affinity basses is pretty good, I found the electronics to be noticeably noisier and the pickups to be less powerful than the VM basses, but both of those issues can be resolved with a soldering iron and about £80 spent on a decent wiring loom and pickups. However if I was buying blind I would spend the extra on a VM/CV to reduce the likelihood of picking up a dud.
22. Give an Affinity a try in the shop. You might be pleasantly surprised, I abed a bunch of Squier Jazzes a few months and walked away with the Affinity. It blew the others out of the water.
