1. Was that Ibanez UK? The guitar has been sent back. I haven't sent the shop a reply to their message. Ball is in their court.
2. Well it's all packed up securely and ready to go. Hopefully there will be a happy ending. I'll let the seller know when it has been sent, just not sure what to reply with other then that.
3. The person who emailed me is the purchases and accounts manager.
4. To install a neck shim. Also to work out whether the crack I saw was in the finish or wood. If it was finish I would have let it go, as its the wood I cannot.
5. Just received this email. How do I respond to this? I wouldnt have been able to see a fault if I didn't take the neck off. Does it really invalidate the warranty? " You have put us in a very difficult position here. By taking off the neck you have effectively invalidated the warranty. You should not need to remove the neck to adjust the setup and by removing the neck you may well have caused some of this damage. The fit and finish of Ibanez guitars at this price point and even higher is never perfect. They have crammed a lot of features in to the guitar for the price. In order for us to authorise a full refund we need to receive the guitar back in the exact same condition as we sent it. We'll be in touch as soon as it gets back to us."
6. I have been sent a return label with no comment. Hopefully a refund will be issued in due course Rob.
7. Here is a better photo of the neck pocket crack.
8. Merchant City music Glasgow, from their Ebay account. I have sent the photos and a description of the problem just now. Let's see what they come back with! Hope they don't try and wriggle out of it as the neck has been taken off. (Though how else would I be able to see a factory flaw!)
9. See posts below for shop response! Hello all. I have recently purchased a brand new Ibanez RGA42FM-BLF online. I have a few issues with the fit and finish of it. I took the neck off as part of a set up and noticed that there is a crack running through the base of the neck from one of the screw holes. In addition there looks to have been a repair made to the neck pocket area where it meets the pickup. It's hard to see but there appears to be a crack and glue traces to repair it. Lastly the side of the bridge pickup rout has either been cut poorly or damaged by whoever installed the pickup at the factory. I am not sure if this is me just being picky. Could you please advise? Rob
10. I live in nearby Becontree. Been here for just over a year. There is no such thing as and originals scene, either people wanting to play originals or venues wanting original bands. I go to the centre of London to practice instead. Luckily I work there.
11. I remember a number of these basses being produced in the mid 2000's no named but matching headstock colours (For the J basses), high gloss necks with the full bits of tin (Bridge and pup covers). They had both P and J's and were reasonably well made with decent (Though usually heavy) woods. Many of them had mint coloured scratchplates. The rumour was (From the shopkeeper who sold them himself) is that they were made by the Chinese factory who called themselves Tokai (but had nothing to do with the Tokai we all know and love). They are decent basses but nothing special.

14. Quite embarrassing. I have played for about 15 years and the longest I have kept a bass is my current 3 band stingray. Which I have only had for about 2 and a half years!
15.
Hi Which version of the B7K are you selling? The earlier one or the newer one with more knobs and things?
Depends. The Later version of the B7K has additional switches including cut etc. The B7K Ultra is the one with the additional EQ as well as Cut switches etc.
16. Hello all. I have a bass project here for sale. When I bought it it was in a sorry state. I have cleaned her up as much as possible, re-glued the nut and fixed a machine head that was missing the spacer. I haven't got any time or space to continue working on her so must be moved on! The good: Bass is incredibly lightweight, fantastic for those with bad backs. When tuned up the B string was very responsive and not floppy at all. Tuning stability was fantastic, Playability was great. Pickups direct to the jack sound great. The action can go incredibly low, frets are in good shape and the truss rod is 100% a-ok with plenty of adjustment available. The bad: The original bridge (Which I will include) Has suffered some tail lift due to it being over tuned by the previous owner for an extended amount of time. The bridge does work but I would recommend replacing it. It is currently not attached to the bass. The original pre-amp is knackered, this needs to be replaced. The extra: I am supplying a brand new pre-wired Belcat Pre-amp which should drop in pretty easily into the bass cavity. You just need to attach the pickups and re-use the current jack. The bass is a used bass and has some minor scratches and imperfections on the body (Mostly on the side and back which I am unable to show up in photos). This does not come with a gigbag or any case. I live in Dagenham but I work around Kings Cross for convenience. I will NOT haggle, I will not take any less for this bass so please don't ask or suggest. This bass is advertised elseware for more money but I want to give Basschatters a deal. I will NOT post.
17. Hello all. I have ordered an ex display B7K Ultra online. Sorta regret not looking more in depth into the reviews and the issues people are having with getting the clean and distorted sections working well together due to a shared EQ. Have any of you gotten over these issues at all? What settings have you guys that have matched both the clean and distorted tones? Are you able to switch the pedal on by just hitting the distortion button? Or do you have to switch on the right hand switch first? (IE if I were to want to use a clean signal without the EQ and just switch the distortion of the pedal on with the pedals EQ enabled, do I need to press two switches?). I will likely be using this in conjunction with my VT Bass deluxe as well, if it helps with this issue. (I can use the effects loop on the VT Bass Deluxe, though not sure how best to use this with the B7K Ultra. Cheers guys!
18. Depending on condition, between 1400 - 1600. The Sunburst one is rarer then the natural one. The Sunburst one with binding one is rare as hens teeth. I sold my natural one with recent refret and not the greatest wood matching for around £1600 a few years ago.

20. Hello all. I am new to the art of Gain stacking. Essentially I play in a Post-punk-rock band with experimental elements, think Fugazi, Sonic youth etc. Axe of choice is a cheap as chips Telecaster. I have a Blackstar LT-Drive pedal, which is a plexi copy, i like to have it at a fairly low-medium gain setting to mimic a broken up amp and I used my dynamics to go driven and somewhat clean. However sometimes I just want that extra boost to go into a more crazy overdrive or fuzz with feedback effects. What sort of thing should I be looking at? Clean boost in front of the LT-Drive? Fuzz before or after? Another overdrive? Maybe even a MXR Distortion +? (Guy Picciotto from Fugazi uses that to great effect) As I use lots of different amps during the week I dont want to have to use the amp to help me out here. Assume I am running a clean amp all the time. Cheers in advance!
21. Soil and Pimp sessions. Been listening to them since their inception. https://www.youtube....h?v=AQMgXPFzdg8
22. I bought their SG bass kit a few years back. Sent it back as the three point bridge was routed not inline with the neck pocket. The next one had the same issue so had to send that back as well. Pity, a full scale SG bass is my kinda thing.
23. I ordered a 3 point Hipshot supertone for a custom RD bass I had made with the same problem as you. A quick email to Hipshot and they will produce you a custom lower profile supertone for not alot more dosh.
