Hey guys. A while back I bought a Gibson RD Artist. Lovely bass, but unlike the description said, the frets were really worn down and there was some little bits of wear on the fretboard (Much like my grabber had before I sorted that out! http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1) Anyway. I took it to the Gallery in Camden, Its been refretted with Stainless steel frets, the fingerboard has been lightly sanded and refinished, Hipshot Supertone bridge fitted, Dunlop Straplocks and a nice set of extra long scale elixirs. I should be picking her up sometime next week! Pics on arrival!
Can I just point out a pet peave, Jhk was in the corner chatting to a newbie who was a little frustrated by what he was able to do, so he was showing him scales and what-not to help him along but he was constantly being interrupted by constant machine gunning in the corner, I don't mind slap or what have but it doesn't have to be that loud, I wish people would just turn down a bit, it's not a guitar bash.
I thought we had a slap tax for those situations. Admittedly it was a bit annoying. (Though at the end of the bash I did start turning up a bit)
I've just noticed its from the same area, I've sent the seller a message now. Can you remove this post if possible? (Laptop just died, posting this message from my phone) This has confused me to no end! Sorry
Interesting. How have you sent the seller on gumtree a message just now? Gumtree removes all contact links to sellers if the listing has been delisted. I'll be honest I doubt the authenticity of your claims that you arent the person who posted the advert on gumtree.
Yeah, I've got some pics of the build process on an old laptop. That is pretty strange, as I honestly haven't got this advertised anywhere else. I'll remove it until I can find out whats going on. Thanks!!!
Funny, You claim its not advertised elseware, yet its the exact same photos as the ones you have posted, from the same area of Wales.

Also, it is quite bad form for you to sell this bass on here for more then you have advertised it elseware. Click on "Go to Full site" then Click on Full description and it states £150.
Ahh fair one! Lol, this ones a mishmash of a couple of old basses, didn't know it would end up looking the same as a stock instrument. Cheers! =)
TBH, I am surprised you managed to make a parts bass like this. I dont suppose you could provide photos of the build process as proof? Yours looks just like a random model made by the same factory, rather then a parts bass. Not only is the headstock of the image I linked the same as yours, the body has the EXACT same knob configuration as the the one your selling.

Hey guys. I have a Warwick Rockbass Corvette 5 String for sale. It has been stripped and refinished rather badly. The neck is in good condition (Even though in a couple of shots the flash makes it look bad). The paint is pretty thick in some places. Almost looks like a tub of nail varnish has been used on it. However the paint job has not affected the wood underneath. The pickups have alot of wear on them. Bass is passive and may have been active in the past so there is plenty of room in the cavity to install a pre-amp and possible battery. Some of the screws are missing on the bridge and looks like two of them have snapped off into the body. The bridge can hold full tension though. The jack socket is loose as well. The bridge and tuner hardware is in good condition. Truss rod is 100% OK, though bass needs a good setup. Bass will come with a beatup vintage leather style gigbag. REDUCED AGAIN to £105 FIRM picked up from Sutton London, Would prefer not to ship but will if buyer pays for shipping and accepts responsibility. Cheers! Rob.

Great day guys. Probably annoyed some people whilst running around with the Grabber and trying to sell my SUB Really appreciated the compressor chat though I wish I listened better but was trying really hard to play "Softer"! Rob.
Cheers my Grabber is very light but being an early one it has the heavier clover tuners which add to the headstock diving to the floor routine. Looks a fantastic bass, good luck with the sale, I must resist......
I imagine that would make a significant difference! I imagine yours is the one made of maple so mine would probably be a lighter body at that! (Alder)
Nice what's the weight please and is there a lot of neck dive - like on mine?
No idea about exact weight. Pretty safe to say it is light. Never played on your grabber so no idea what your definition of bad neck dive is. It's pretty manageable, not as good as a fender, but much much better then a thunderbird or explorer. My grabber has the smaller enclosed Gibson tuners as standard, rather then the big open geared ones used in some grabbers. Pretty negligible with a decent strap though. R

Hey guys. UP for sale is my lovely Gibson grabber. Black/cherry, maple neck, brass nut, replaced original bridge with a hipshot one (Original included). Has had a recent refret and neck refinish. Looks lovely and plays lovely! Truss rod is absolutely fine. Comes with original beat up hard case. Body has dings and scratches of a 30+ year old bass. Currently has Dunlop straplok's and elixir strings. Has had a recent set up at the gallery. £710 FIRM. Not haggling on the price at all. Would prefer not to ship but will if buyer pays for shipping and accepts responsibility. Cheers! Rob.
Im head of Music at a school in Somerset. One of my students had been showing interest in the bass (a lot of them do - funny that!), and asked if he could bring in the bass his dad had, and said he could use. He said it was really nice - but that gets said a lot when kids bring in all sorts of cheap 80's things. Anyway, he bought in a battered brown case, opened it up to show me a fretless Wal in pretty much mint condition. Its beautiful! He said he had never know his dad to play it, but 'he used to play in a band'... anyway, I suggested that maybe it would be best not to bring it in in the future and use one of the Yamahas I have at school... I'm still stunned!
Didnt know you were in Okehampton, I got married there just last Saturday at the town hall! (The Mrs comes from Broadwoodwidger) Somerset though? Bit of a commute everyday?
3. A question about a 'For Sale' section: previously, we've had that in the 'Quiet Room/Foyer' area - is everyone cool with that arrangement again?
I was going to sell mine in the loud room. Mostly as there will be plenty of amps around to try it on! On other matters, is there anyone who does'nt mind me sullying their collection of basses by letting me putting my Grabber and SUB with them? I am unable to bring amps and last time I brought my Pedullas no one tried them out because I had no amp for them to plug into!
