    There has still got to be a place for these amps and cabs as they were class leaders back in the day and still beat most modern gear hands down. Yes they are heavy and, while I can see the benefit of lightweight gear, everyone should give these amps a try at some point in their playing career before they disappear forever. 😭 I'll be hanging onto my TE head, even if it only gets used a few times a year. You'll probably regret selling your gear if you give it away for a silly price so you might have the right idea in hanging onto it.

    OLD HOLD DEPOSIT TAKEN Not 100% sure that I want to sell this but I fancy a change so here goes... Here are the specs: 5pc Atlas-4 Wenge/Bubinga neck w/KTS™ TITANIUM Reinforcement. BLACK TUSQ XL® NUT. Ovankol top / Mahogany body. Medium frets. MR-4 bridge (19.0mm string spacing). Nordstrand™ BigSingle 4 neck pu. Nordstrand™ BigSingle 4 bridge pu. EQB-III SC 3-band eq. EQ Bypass switch. Mid-frequency select switch(250Hz or 600Hz). Hardware colour : Gold. Scale : 864mm/34". Colour: VNF (Vintage Natural Flat). There is some buckle rash on the rear of the guitar, a thumb wear mark near the neck pickup and some discolouration on the fretboard between the 6th and 7th frets that I've pictured. Original Ibanez semi hard case included. Collection / meet-up preferred but postage may be possible if you are willing to arrange your own courier. Trade-wise I would consider the following: Musicman Sterling or RAY34, Fender Jazz or Fender Precision. Thanks for looking and feel free to message me if you have any questions.

    I'm currently playing an Ibanez SR1200 4 string but have been thinking about selling it to get a BTB 5 String. I tried one in my local music shop a while ago and really liked the way it played and sounded. The only question I have is that they are sold in EADGC tuning and I'd prefer mine in BEADG. Has anyone got restrung theirs this way and did it require any attention to the truss rod?

    It was mentioned on a youtube review. Looking at the back of the amp, each output says 8ohms too. Hope I've got it wrong though as I'm quite interested in this amp.

    I got a bit excited about this but then realised that it won't work with my single 1x12 4ohm cab! 😪

    I have the non-UV light version of this amp and can confirm that they are loud amps and they sound incredible too! GLWTS.

    If I get one I might end up with 2 lightweight ashdown 1x12 cabs so it sounds like that will probably work with a di into the band's PA.

    Anyone ever gigged with an Ashdown Original 300 amp head? I'm thinking about buying one and wondered if they are loud enough to cut it on stage with two guitars and a drummer in a rock band. Probably going to use it with a single 4 ohm cab rated at 500 watts.

    I'd say it's too thin on the top. I think the problem might be that I want the best of both worlds, i.e. a nice modern sounding mid scoop on the E, A and D strings but the precision type mid boost on the G string to cut through better. I just had this theory that the precision cuts through better on the G string as it has a more solid and thicker neck than the ibanez.

    So I've been using Ibanez basses as my main gigging basses for the last 10 years with the odd precision in between. I love the the neck width, the body shape, and the modern tone(both pickups on) but the only issue I have is that I find that the top end seems a little bit thin, particularly compared to a Fender Precision which always cuts through on the top end really well. I'm currently using Elixir roundwound 105 - 45 gauge strings and I was wondering what a set of flats might sound like on the Ibanez and wondered if this would help to thicken up the top end. Has anyone else had similar issues with their Ibanez and what did you try to solve it?

    I had the best ever DI sound out of one these when I had mine. Sadly the one I had kept blowing a fuse at every gig so it had to go. Brilliant little amp though, I'm almost tempted...

    Sold elsewhere. Ashdown Mi-bass 1x12 cab 500w (upgraded) Fitted with an eminence delta 12hlf 500w 4 ohm speaker (the original speaker was a 250w 8 ohm speaker). Great little punchy cab. Some marks on the tolex but nothing too horrendous. I'm using in-ears these days so this is gathering dust in the garage and it deserves to be used. Price drop to £70 or trades considered for a 2x10 cab. Collection only due to the weight (approx. 16kg) or could possibly meet up within a reasonable distance.
