1. Not aiming this comment at anyone in particular, but with quad parametric EQ controls, you really do need a good ear and a bit of patience to get the best from it. There is a lot of potential to ruin your tone with poor EQing, and compression, and tubetone. I suspect that a few of those who have not got on with the RH simply don't have the ears and almost resent the potential complexity of the EQ. Also, I am equally sure that some folks who have not got on with them simply don't find the sound they are looking for due to the fact that they are looking for a different style of amp. What is fact, is that the RH has an incredibly versatile EQ section. Personally, I have found it very musical and with a bit of fiddling I have been able to sculpt the midrange exactly to my tastes (and the midrange is where most of the differences in "tone" are IMO.
Just bought a BB2000 Japan 1985 in original flight case.... Loving it to bits......
Oh for goodness sake ............ PICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 3.
From 'I want something lighter' to 'I got something heavier' in one page!
Lol. GAS can have that effect !
 4. Thats a very cheap price indeed ! Someone's going to get a great amp here, for not a load of money. If I wasn't 100% happy already with my amp I'd have this.
 5.
If you feel that way about the SA450, IMO give the TC a wide berth.
Did you ever use any other RH's besides your own one ? I'm wondering if yours was faulty.
 6.
Think i'll pack a flask and sandwiches and sit in Bassdirect all day.
Excellent plan ! ........ but don't forget to try a few amps/cabs out while you're there enjoying the view.
 7.
I had been looking at the TC Electronic BC210. Definitely couldn't use one of those to get what I wanted but two might work.
Having owned a pair of BC212's (or was it BC210's I'm not exactly sure) I would not recommend them. They are not great cabs, all IMO, IME etc etc. They can struggle with high volume, and the tone from the ones I had was rather indistinct. No clarity at all. After all has been said so far, I still think a used Schroeder 4x10 (the 410L or 410BMF) is probably your best bet. Even so, the tone of Schroeders is not to everyone's tastes. They have a very strong mid presence.
 8. don't forget the excellent onboard tuner on the RH also ! and, yes the 3 memory slots are very useful
 9. If you want a cab that is able to cope with larger function venues but still weighs under 25 kg and still comes in at under £500, then you're probably looking at a used light neo 4x10. Maybe a Schroeder 4x10, which are about 25kg. There are 2x12's that would cope, volume-wise, and weigh under 25kg, but I doubt you will pick them up for £500, even used. I have owned a GK neo212 II, and they are fine cabs, but on their own, I wouldn't want to try and fill a large hall, with a loud band, with one. Maybe a GK neo 212 for most gigs, and then add another cab for the larger ones ? It'll be interesting to see what others suggest. It's the high volume, plus low weight, all for under £500 that's going to be the challenge.
 10.
Yes, I think the only LB 550 is the one with the MiBass power stage. Musician's Friend no longer list it. That means I will go for the ABM 500 Evo 3 and the ABM 610. With about 20db's of treble boost available , it won't be wooly [I hope ]
Don't forget about the SPyder dual tube 550. It has the ABM power stage and is anything but woolly. A good pedal for drive (if you want it) and you're set !
 11.
Helppppppp. I got the shakes.
Has it anything to do with this amp, or do you need to see a doctor ?
 12.
There's already a thread in Bass Porn for this: http://basschat.co.u...ange-bass-porn/
Aha. Much orangeness there. Thanks. I think I shall need to post there also !
 13.
loads of power a pair of 12's and a tweeter whats not to like?
The tweeter ?
 14. I'll start. Yammy BB414 with custom ebony fretless board (this in an undisguised excuse to show off Mr.Orange !)
 15.
Someone buy this before I buy another one for no reason other than that they're awesome and I like the idea of two of them stacked on top of each other
Do it Eddie. You know you should !
 16.
This is nice. on eBay USA, a loaded 90s Peavey Fury neck. http://www.ebay.co.u...a#ht_4685wt_939 *Very* narrow and shallow.
Pretty sure that neck would not be the same length or the right heel size for a Fender standard sized heel pocket. It has an extra fret, and it's heel fills that whole extra fret's space. My issue is actually resolved now, as I have agreed a trade of my fretless for a fretted P !
 17. FuNkShUi , if you wanted to come down to mine to do the agreed swap of our basses, you could bring your gear and try out my TC RH450 and Baer cabs. Oh and my Ashdown Spyder 550. If you wanted to do that I'd put the courier costs it would have cost me to send the bass to you towards your fuel.
 18. A long time ago I realised that courier insurance wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. THe only way to try and ensure safety is to pack items to withstand a nuclear blast. Even then, occasionally (like this BF cab) something so extreme will happen to it that it will be damaged. The problem with not using couriers is that it reduces your target market for an item like a bass by about 100X. The higher value, and more specialised, the item the more it reduces your target market. For me, unfortunately couriers are a necessary evil. Rule of thumb - always overpack !
 19. Instantly sounds like a modeller of some sort to me. SOunds way too authentic and high quality for a home recording to be an actual amp.
 20. If you're not enjoying the LMII, then perhaps the opposite sort of tone may attract you. Am upper mid-present and "barky" tone from a GK MB500 maybe. Or a very hi-fi bright tone from a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 may be more to your taste. There's a lovely GK Fusion 550 in the classifieds at the moment that will be very different to the LMII. Great amp too ! It's hard to know what you don't like about the LMII without more info.
 21. Sorry, now traded. Just recently bought from Andy Travis on this fine forum. A Farida custom fretless Jazz bass. The neck was made especially as a custom job by Farida when researching the production of a fretless model. The bass started off as a Farida FJB-6 and was fitted with this neck, which is one of only 2 Farida fretless necks made. Spec ...... Maple neck, vintage tinted. Ebony fingerboard (partially lined) Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder Jazz pickups weight - approx 9lbs body - white gloss with light vintage green scratchplate. Loaded with D'Addario chrome flats, and will come with a good spare 2nd set of the same. This bass plays beautifully and sounds very classy. The neck is a dream. I actually really like the partially lined design, and I find it's actually easier to get your eye in on it than either of the traditional fully lined or non-lined (with side dots) designs. Couple of very minor scratches on the rear of the body. Overall, the bass is in really excellent condition. Bought as a comparison with my Yammy BB414 fretless, but I have found that I simply love the voice of the P pickup in the Yam more, and it is all I need. In fact I find myslef becoming obsessed with P's at the moment. For sale at £235 posted to you within mainland UK, or a trade value of roughly £240. Interested in fretted P basses only, but no nut widths over 42mm. 22. Thanks guys. The mighty mite is pretty reasonably priced too. I'll have to consider my options. Cheers
 23.
If the Clover already does a good impression of a Jazz then keep it.
This.
