FWIW i've included a screenshot ...

On looking at your screenshots there, it looks to me like a font issue of some sort.
We're not really comparing like with like here. Two very different PCs (of different age I presume, vista and XP) with different screen resolutions (I think ?) and different versions of Firefox (I think). Maybe the design of the new board doesn't really take into account older, lower resolution screens. If that's right, maybe a tweaked theme for those screens is in order ? Andy
The Bass Station manual says you need a 9VDC power supply . My K-station appears to be powered with a generic chinese one, so I'd guess there would be nothing special required.
Aaarrgh ! DON'T plug in a standard boss power supply without checking. My K-station takes a centre-positive plug (I checked on the back), so a standard Boss-type supply (center-negative) stands a good chance of doing some damage. Just remembered the 'standard' power supply that came with my 2nd hand K-station has some tape in the middle of the lead, ... looks like someone got a replacement power supply and switched the polarity to match. Sorry for the earlier misleading message.
Any ideas what power supply I need for it at all?
The Bass Station manual says you need a 9VDC power supply . My K-station appears to be powered with a generic chinese one, so I'd guess there would be nothing special required.
How is the k-station, is it very similar?
Looks quite different in the pics, but it wouldn't surprise me if the synth inside is the same, just controlled differently. That's guesswork on my part though, I'm no synth guru. Here's the info --> LINK.

No, but I have a K-station. Andy
Its been getting worse for several days, now I cant get new content no matter what i try All i get is "Sorry, no new content found." .
I've had that, now and again, but (so far as I can remember) it didn't last long, probably cured by selecting a different time-period and or de-selecting 'only topics I started' ... but it sounds like you've already done that. If you have ... sounds like a new bug. Andy

Great Thank you.

Just realised this bug appears to be much worse on 'content I follow' . Each page of topics has a range of dates that overlaps massively with the previous page. So to find recent updates in 'content I follow' I have to go through every single page. Since 'Just Items I follow' is also broken (see here) the follow feature is completely unusable for me right now. Sorry. Not trying to nag, I know you guys are all volunteers. Just clarifying the problems I see.

Cool ... I thought if you'd turned off search it probably meant something like that. -

I'm seeing this message all over the place ? [#10145] Search is not enabled on the community at this time. Some repair going on right now ? -
I have the same problem ... noted here

Ooops ...okay... just noticed this 'There have been 69 items by BigBeatNut (Search limited from 22-September 10)' I guess that explains it. Is it going to be like that permanently ?
Using a bass like this will make you say, what 5?
Possibly. OTOH, past experience tells me that 5's get taken to gigs and 4's stay at home.
-
I explained this to the guitarist, who could only say 'fine', then wondered off.
He may not have said much, but actually, that speaks volumes
I love the fender mustang, it has a great sound.
Ooohh you shouldn't have reminded me of that, now I'm gassing for one again. They do have a distinctive sound ... last time I picked one up in a shop I nearly bought it on the spot ... with tapewounds on, just the sound I was aiming for with another bass I already own. If they only made a 5-string mustang I'd be all over it Andy

I've just noticed that this bug is happening with a few more recent threads I've participated in. At first I thought they were missing altogether from 'My Content', but then I remember this bug, so I tried the LAST page of 'My Content' and there they were at the top. The topics are http://basschat.co.uk/topic/155979-band-issues/page__fromsearch__1 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/155984-topics-missing-from-my-content/ http://basschat.co.uk/topic/155986-topics-missing-from-topics-i-participated-in-past-year/
I suppose I'll be in the minority, but I like there to be a clear leader - someone who listens to everyone's point of view then makes a decision in the best interest of the group. In fact, I don't mind it if he's the paymaster too.
I've no fixed ideas on whether either having a clear leader or by contrast completely democracy is the best thing ... it all depends on context. What I would expect in either scenario, though, is a clear respect for other people, and that includes being open about the reasoning behind rules like '1 month notice for band practice changes'.
Something I've found that works in most situations in life is to say OK and then carry on as normal and when a few months down the line you are reminded of your OK just say, OK, sorry I forgot. Works every time.
Mmm, dunno. That may be pragmatic, but if it was me, I'd feel I was being a little dishonest taking that approach. I like CK's open approach, and I think he goes right to the heart of it when he says it's all about a problem that's not yet been stated (not here at least). The requirement for 1 months notice looks to me like a solution to a problem, so it's important to back-track and find out the problem that it solves. When you know the problem, you may find there's a different solution. If no-one can state the problem, then you're either with a bunch of people who can't think or reason adequately (highly unlikely), or they're hiding something from you, or someone is being a dictator, and as CK says, that will make your choices a bit clearer Jackers, I've been through this kind of situation at work recently (asked to do something (apply a solution) with no backing reason (the underlying problem)) and it was frustrating, so I feel for you. When I look at 'Topics I participated in' with 'Past Year' selected, I see topics going back to 27 may 2011 (just one page). However when I look at 'My Content' it's very clear I have many more topics that I've participated in, about 3 times as many as that. In fact, it looks as if 'Topics I participated in' is showing me just the first page of 'My Content'. Andy

This topic of mine 'Rob Allen Deep 5' is missing from 'My content' . In fact, everything prior to 22 sept 2010 is missing from 'My Content' Andy
My problem is similar enough not to warrant its own thread: In the picture above, there is a star next to "New Basschat Features". Clicking this star will get the viewer to the first new post on the thread, I believe. I have now lost all these stars/dots and wotnot. It's especially annoying with huge threads like the Bad Jokes thread. Is there a way to get this back? Is it me? The option was there last time I looked, but not this morning and I haven't been into my control panel at all.

I too have lost that feature this morning.
Different issue guys ... its been logged over here --> 'Go to first unread post links missing'.
I wonder if I've clicked somewhere to 'follow' them? I don't think I have....?
Well, to be absolutely certain, I double-checked by following each link. 23 of the 25 had a 'follow' button, confirming that I had not yet followed them.
What happens if you de-select 'passed year'? Mine's always 'new since last visit'
If I select 'new since last visit' it does as you say de-select 'passed year'. However the topics listed on the first page are exactly the same ones in exactly the same order, i.e. mostly irrelevant to my search as before. Andy
I don't know if there's a 'huge bug' with the particular part you refer to, because nobody else seems to be having that particular problem, so it may well be an isolated issue. I can appreciate it must be frustrating but you could try marking everything as read and see if that helps. Rest assured, we are looking to fix every single little issue one at a time.
Hi Ped, Appreciate all your efforts. I've followed your suggestion above (mark all read) and it's made no difference ... here, at least, it's either a huge bug or a hugely misleading user interface (meaning: according to *my* understanding I've clicked the right things, but I might need to do something else to get the result I want). Anyway ... for clarity, I've logged it as a separate bug here complete with explanatory screenshot. Cheers, Andy
