Mods, can I ask where you prefer to have bug/problem reports raised ? My first thought was "right here" and obviously many people think the same. It does get a bit hard to track whether anyone has answered though (particularly because of the volume of well-deserved congratulation) and so I started to log problems in Site issues. That seems to make a lot of sense to me. Make sense to everyone else ? Andy

New Site Search problem - expected topic not in results
BigBeatNut replied to BigBeatNut's topic in Site News
Thanks -
If I go to 'My Content' the ordering seems to be a bit erratic. Within the first page, it seems to be ordered by most recently updated, which is good, what I'd expect. However if you go to the second page, you find topics much more recent than the last topic on the first page. Same for third page etc. I've also found the same problem on 'Content I Follow' This is a bug surely ? Any chance of a fix ? Andy

Hi, Great looking new site Some of the moved/changed features are causing me some head scratching at the moment, but I'm sure I'll find my way round before too long. I have a problem though. If I searched the old forum for "55-94" (which I did, frequently), then I got posts that matched "55-94". However the new forum thinks I'm searching for "5594" and returns those results. That's a bit of a bummer ... it's only going to work if everyone who posts a 55-94 for sale also incudes "5594" somewhere in the text. Is there any chance of fixing this ? I'm vaguely hopeful that admins have access to a configuration option somewhere, possibly in a text file, that changes this behaviour. Cheers, Andy

I've hit a problem with search. I'm on the lookout for fretless 5's so this post is of interest: http://basschat.co.u...ss-5-the-angel/ However if I search for "fretless" or "Fretless" in advanced seach (in "basses for sale", with titles only) then this topic doesn't show up in the results. Any ideas ?

Dimensions Needed, From A Ray And A Precision
BigBeatNut replied to GreeneKing's topic in General Discussion
I have an urge to get close to the traditional MM and P bass tones from something that looks much more modern.
I'd be very interested to see that when finished Andy -
Oh no, I wish I hadn't see that ... now it might be necessary for me to order one of those in black, and five-string. Anyone know the string spacing at the bridge on the fives ? Andy
Researching this one again and answering my own question ... seems standard string spacing on warwick 5's is 16.5mm ... or if you're lucky enough to be ordering a model where they do custom options, 20mm. Warwick necks Why, warwick, why ? Why not something sensible like 18-19 mm ? Or do the 16.5 bridges have lateral adjustment that lets you space out to (say) 18mm ? Failing that ... looks like I'm back to looking for a Washburn AB95 Andy
And did you, and were they the correct ones?
Haven't ordered them yet .... no longer have that bass (Lakland HB) and so my obsession with reproducing that sound has abated somewhat. May just order some of those as an experiment for another bass though. Andy -

GONE: Sandberg Custom Shop PM5 light reliced 5 String Bass
BigBeatNut replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Basses For Sale
A PM5 is definitely on my GAS list, and that's a great price ... but the relic finish is making me pause ... How much relicing has been done to the neck ? Do you think the relicing could be undone with just a body refin ? Or is the body too physically marked for that ? How would you class the the sound of the P pickup ? For instance, where on the scale of vintage -> modern would you put it ? Does it sound warm ? aggressive ? Fat ? Deep ? Thumpy ? Punchy ? Andy -
This without the frets and flatwounds would be my ideal bass.
The Korean one is available in fretless, but the fingerboard wood is 'tigerstripe ebony' or something. To me that won't go with the gloss finishes they offer, I'd have sooner had plain ebony. Actually consider getting a fretted one and de-fretting it. Andy
