1. I've just discovered that the wonderful internet archive actually has a copy of the specs of my combo. Here you go .... SPECS
2. Any Offer considered. This has to be useful as a home practice amp, or amp for 'coffee bar' gigs, for someone, surely ?
3. Gorgeous looking bass. If my Eclipse LTD (5) is anything to go by, it'll sound gorgeous too. Best of luck with the sale.
4. On the pigtronix EP-1: I don't suppose it has any of the 'mods' does it ... extra toggles on the back near the jacks ? And what the situation with the power supply ? Are you including the pigtronix power supply + UK->US adapter ?
5. Still available ... make my day, make me an offer
6. This has got the thumbs up from three basschatters besides me ... it's a great amp, make me an offer
7. I'm up for it, not 100% sure I'm going to be free though. If I come, I'll be bringing one of THESE
8.
That's a bit illogical, isn't it? I mean, how did the bass get to their shop in the first place? Presumably in the same (kind of) box as they advise you not to use.
All I know is, I've seen people leaving music shops with new guitars in extremely flimsy looking cartons. Maybe the cheaper guitars are packed this way individually but shipped in bulk in a larger box ? I dunno ... but what the guy said to me confirmed my pre-conceptions about flimsy guitar boxes. Seems my most likely option is a visit to local supermarket or self-storage co., followed by a bit of DIY with tape and stanley knife.
9. Okay, I tried my local guitar shop, and they said "you really wouldn't want to post a valuable guitar in the boxes we have here". Any other suggestions for sourcing boxes suitable for posting guitars ? I would have thought that eBay would have loads of people offerring boxes (given how many eBay users must use them), but I've drawn a blank on guitar/bass boxes so far.
10. Thanks loudandclear .... .... aaaand ..... BUMP !
11.
Has this gone now?
The combo is still up for sale. Make me an offer
12. Is there really no alternative to scrounging these from local guitar shops ? No online source at all ?
13. If you're interested but put off by the suggested London pickup please get in touch to see if we can work something out. Over the coming weeks, it seems possible I'll be travelling London to Gloucester by car, and London to Doncaster by car. If you're near one of those routes we can probably work something out. Even if you're NOT near one of those routes, please get in touch ... we could always meet halfway, maybe? Cheers, Andy
14.
If your really stuck for finding one for free locally check out Pack N' Move. A google search should bring up their website and they do a tall thin box ideal for shipping a bass in a gig bag. Its a bit pricey though, especially for delivery.
I couldn't find the 'thin' box here and I didn't spot one that looked like it might suit a bass either. http://www.packnmove.co.uk/cardboard_storage_boxes/ Which one did you mean ? Andy
15. bump ..... ANY REASONABLE OFFER CONSIDERED
16. It's a great amp ... if you're interested but you think the price is wrong, then make me an offer.
17.
I think that's Transparent Wine Red. Could well be wrong... I don't think I've seen one.
Thanks ... that seems to be a common name for it. Just checked the current fender site and found a finish called Crimson Transparent which seems to be pretty much the same. It seems to be a not uncommon thing currently ... when you say you haven't seen one you mean a precision of that vintage in that colour ? Andy
18. Thought I'd post pics of this to see what you think. I've always thought the colour was unusual and it's recently occured to me it might actually be rare and valuable. Anyone know what this finish is called ? It's a slightly opaque red, that gets slightly more opaque towards the edges of the body. Unfortunately this isn't seeing a lot of action at the moment. I'm thinking I might find an alternate neck, unlined fretless, so it'll be more likely be played. The most accurate rendition of the colour ... And a few more details ...
19. Now on eBay, but I'd pull the listing from eBay if I get a suitable offer here. Cheers, Andy
