4 months on from your query. I have an Artcore. The shortscale Status tapewound strings I planned to put on it from my Bronco bass were too short. Rotosound medium scale jazz bass strings were the right length.

As a student Radiographer in the 80s in NW London I x-rayed members of a well know band from the 70s. They must have lived locally as, during the course of my training, I managed to x-ray three out of four of them. I was only told who they were by my supervising Radiographer after the event. I don't think I can name the band due to patient confidentiality. I also met someone I most certainly did recognise who was accompanying his Dad for a Radiology appointment and a group of female singers who were visiting a member of their road crew on one of the wards.

Strung with flats and an ashtray fitted to stuff a lump of foam under when I don't want an active roundwound PJ sound. At home I plugged in to the aux socket of my mother's home organ. I have part shares in a 100W selmar solid state bass amp and 4X12 cab. The guitarist had a matching 100W selmar guitar amp and the same cab. The other co-owner of the bass amp & cab lived the other side of Colchester to me so we moved it the two miles or so between houses using a 'borrowed' Sainsbury shopping trolley. The quickest route by far being off road over Abbey Fields (past the assault course for anyone who knows Colchester). We did a few gigs, he did none. So fortunately never had to deal with a clash of bookings.

Bought a damaged acoustic bass from them via their ebay clearance site. The one that arrived was more damaged than the one described (described as minor cosmetic marks on the back but otherwise functioning perfectly; actually 1/4 of the top was lifting off and the electronics were screwed). Contacted their customer service. Quick reply. Asked for a few photos as evidence. Agreed to replace the item with a brand new undamaged one. Exchange postage at their expense.So well pleased with their service. Was given VIP membership which offers a reduction on certain items and would certainly consider them for a future purpose.

Hi, Planning to do some gigs as a duo with a mate. He plays acoustic guitar, bouzouki, mado, blues harp etc. I was thinking of alternating between bass and electric. The idea I had was to use my vox 'lil looper to add to the compliment of instruments available. My thinking is if I connect the looper through the send/return of my Fender Ultimate chorus I could use one input for a guitar and the other for a bass VI and use the looper on both. But the question is will I knacker the UC? Its a big 2x12 65 watts per channel stereo solid state thing so I think probably not but confirmation would be helpful. I know the sound may not be optimal and I might have to juggle with volumes to get the sound right. For the size place we would be playing volume shouldn't be a problem. I've never had it above 2 at the moment.

Another Russian beauty. I'm intrigued by the "Dirt paint over black polyester" option He had me right until the point he said it's "Not suitable for performances and requires radical modifications electronics for even entry-level performances".

Hi Thanks for the suggestions. I do have a set of the Fender rubberstrap locks but thought it would be more Rock n Roll by drinking beer for some moe. Didn't think there would be a trade for Grolsch washers on EBay, but then I suppose there is a market for everything. Ten for three quid seems a good deal.

Trying to find some Grolsch bottles for strap locks (and drinking) but having a devil of a job finding any. Anyone out there seen the stuff in stock in either the Norwich or Hereford area (yes I know it's a weird combination)? I've tried several major supermarkets. Some have it on line but have been unable to find any in store.
