1.
I just got a chance to A/B this bass with my ash/maple 535 - I'd say they are about the same weight, and mine is a shade under 9.5lbs in old money (about 4.3 kg). It's a very nice bass too (the pictures don't really do it justice!), but too similar sounding to mine for me to seriously consider buying it. Mark's bass looks a lot better though. Mark, thanks for indulging my curiosity this evening, and good luck with the sale. Whoever picks this up should be very happy. Cheers G
Thanks G Glad you enjoyed playing it. I have a feeling we may have swapped straps as I now seem to have a comfort strap without straplocks on the bass. Are you missing a strap? Mark
2. Not 100% sure on the weight, I could weigh it tonight. Its not a heavy bass, but its not Sadowsky light either. I'd guess in the 4.2-4.4 kilo range but will confirm tongiht. According to my fairly unrealiable scales my guess was spot on, it range from 4.2-4.5 kg on the scales (which gives me a different reading each time I get on it!).
3. I've had a few trade offers. To be clear, I am not looking for trades on this as this is a cash raising exercise. I appreciate the offers but its a cash only sale. I should also mention that this bass is currently strung E-C but I can restring it B-G if you want.
4. Okay, up for grabs for the next two weeks is my other MTD bass: MTD 535-24 Ash body Ash neck Birdseye maple figerboard Blackheart Sassafras top (this is the only MTD with this top - its an Australian native timber) Dual accent layers World Logo MTD Deluxe case with hydrometer This bass is now at www.bassgear.co.uk for sale on consignment (http://www.bassgear.co.uk/products-page/pre-owned/mtd-535-24-pre-owned/) and is withdrawn from sale here. The photos: On this goes to Bassgear the price will be higher so if you are interested this is a good way to grab a bargain on one of the best basses money can buy!
5. I've got an Oxide and Xerograph up for sale if you want to spend some of the proceeds of this sale!
6. FYI this is now for sale at www.bassgear.co.uk but I can sell it privately if anyone is interested.
7. I'd recommend one of the following: [sfx] Red Dragon BJFE Blueberry (if you can find one) or Fuzzrocious Dark Driving <-= probably the best pedals you can find for the Jack Bruce type sound FEA Labs Dual Band Distortion (way more flexible and covers every type of sound you could want).
8. Close to Earls Court or in the city during work hours.
9. Payment pending, but looks like the Dark Driving and the Bass Angler are sold.

11. Given I live around the corner I guess I should probably go.
12. My Finn 5 32" strung E-C with a chambered body
13. The Boomerang III is probably your best bet. It has 4 indepedent loops which all have their own stop/start button. You could record four samples and trigger them with your feet.
14. Bump
15. Muting when using two handed techniques. It's generally a good way to spot someone who's about to engage in some bass solo work. I've rarely seen it on an ensemble players bass.
16. They are really good, but only if you can afford them. Of course it doesn't mean you can't get equally good basses for a lot less. Buy the bass that makes you happy and you can afford. Spending on credit is bad.
17. All I want for Christmas....
18. Hehe, very nice. You have great taste in wood combos!
19. This bass is all set up and playing like a dream coutersy of Stuart at Peter Cooks. £2450 shipped in the UK is a steal.
20. BUMP. Make me a pre-Chirstmas offer
21. THis bass is back on the market. The guitar is currently getting a set up and being strung with a new set of DR High Beams. It's an awesome piece of kit that I will regret selling, but saving for a house has to take priority now and I have too many nice basses to justify giving I am hardly playing at the moment. Will put new pics up when I get the bass back on Saturday! Mark
22. I am putting this back on the market. Currently in discussions with someone about buying this bass but if anyone is keen feel free to make me an offer.
23. Frank bought this pedal off me and was super easy to deal with.
24. Frank bought a pedal of me, was super easy to deal with, no mess, no fuss. Sell to him with confidence.
25. That thing sold ages ago. If plays anywhere near as good as my Ritter I'd buy it if I had the spare cash. I don't think it actually sold for $100,000. Jens makes a lot of stuff "because he can", but its all very much playable art.
