3. where do you get the Newtones from? Are they for electric bass?
Newtones. But you would be better off searching for past threads as they will be better populated with answers.
4. Do you still have the loop pedal?
5. As a bit of a newbie to this it looks like all it is, is a case of running all of your major scales underneath one another and then your modes across the top. Someone tell me if this doesn't work. Chordwise I'm not sure if the chords stay the same e.g. for C (Ionian) C Dm Em F G Am B(dim) C I think that C Lydian starts on a sharpened 4th F sharp, so looks like G major
6. Looking at that software it'll play the sequence and overlay the guitar chord pattern. Do you know if it's possible to do this showing the chords on bass.
7. Thanks guys, much appreciated, kinda getting it now. Is there any free software that would let me quickly run a few chords together and play the sequence, so I can noodle over? I'm thinking the most important thing for me is to: play, learnt the fretboard and chord structures. Anyone know of any good arpeggio patterns online
8. Used to have one of these and I thought it was great. I stripped mine and was surprised that they are solid wood and not ply
9. I'm just looking over a lot of this stuff again I think there's something I'm not getting So is it the case that with a major chord, C for example, that all of the notes in the Ionian (C major) will sit against that chord OK? Wouldn't the 2nd 4th and 7th sound out?
10. Always liked the look of those
11. I read another review somewhere, may have been something like Finn Bass and someone had tried out the whole range and said that this one (in their opinion was the best in the range).
12. Bumpington and linkage
13. You could always re-package them and sell that set as Clarky Customs
14. Yamaha RBX200F, just get one, cheap solid and easy to play
15. I honestly think that at the moment people seem to be tuned into either custom made, start up or vingtage-ish. Mass produced is having a hard time and this seems to be the same with lots of other things too. Problem with lots of things nowadays is that when it comes down to it your paying for a brand . . . does that brand equate to quality? I don't know, but you can get decent quality at low prices. All I know is that when I was younger everyone wanted Warwick and Musicmans, now they don't, unless they are cheap enough. It's just fashion I guess. Saying that Warwicks do look a bit retro/kitsch to me these days, still fancy a Dophin, sort of attractive in an ugly way
16. I think that the John Martyn vibe would have been different without Danny Thompson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg_Utj4Aljc
17. Go for it! If not, I'm interested Still having fun with the amp
18. Where are you in Wales?
