1.
How do you reckon it would cope with BEAD tuning? Would the bridge take a .125, for example?
I've not tried it myself but can't see it having any problems beside needing the usual setup for lower notes, looks like plenty of room at the bridge for thicker strings
2. Price drop bump as this is getting silly now... £200 posted, £180 collected from my place in Liverpool.
3. Sold a pedal to Diego last week, payment was received with no problems and I would be very happy to sell to him again!
4. Trades?
5. Definitely keep the original pickups! I had one a while back and upgraded the pickups to something fancy and expensive, and it lost all it's character to the point of barely sounding like a jazz bass so much as just a fancy set of pups. To this day my main bass(upgraded squier jazz) has a pair of stock 2003-2008 MiM pups installed and sounds perfect. If you like how it sounds already, leave them as they are. Badass II/Gotoh 201(/203... whichever's the heftier one) is the only upgrade you'll ever need, for just a little extra heft... but again, if you're already happy you're better off leaving it alone for now
6. On hold pending the usual...
7. Bump! No love for a bit of 80's nostalgia? If you watch the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail there's a scene where a band uses one of these... *dons anorak*
8. Can't go wrong with a pair of Mackie SRM450's
9. Bump!
10. Apologies, I've only just seen it, will reply now. Cheers
11. Wow, I always said I'd never sell mine, but if the Squier jazz I paid £150 for new about four years ago is now worth £1200 I'll have to reconsider. Anyone here fancy a trade for a Fender Am std jazz+cash my way?
12. Still here boys and girls! £70 for a great delay/echo/loop pedal delivered to your door!
13. I've no idea, but I had one for a few years and really regret selling it, was an absolute bargain. Lot of bass for the money as per with HB stuff
14. Beautiful! That's a bargain for someone nearby...
15.
Despite being responsible for me spending too much of my money and switching gear far too much... I like Basschat, most the folk on here and think the mods do a pretty good job considering. Well done. Just wanted to say that. Thanks
+1
16.
I am. Please confirm it is indeed in full working order and good cosmetic condition. Is Paypal good for you?
As per description and photos it's all as it should be Paypal is fine, drop me a PM and we'll talk business
17.
The pedal, and box/manual all looks in good cosmetic condition to me. I really like the Headrush, very much an underrated Delay pedal, IMHO it's the best pedal Akai have made, yes, yes, yes, Deep Impact included
Thanks! Well, if anyone has a Deep Impact going spare and fancies a trade I'm all ears...
18. Yeah mate still available if you're interested! Steve
19. Still no takers? Folks are more than welcome to come try it out if at all curious
20. Bump! Don't forget this is also a top delay/echo pedal!
21. I'd agree with this, looks like wateroftyne beat me to this point but I remember seeing a video ages ago of Geddy Lee playing a P-bass, with the caption along the lines of 'Geddy Lee doesn't need a jazz bass to get the Geddy Lee jazz bass sound'... in actual fact what it sounds like is Geddy Lee playing a P-bass. Likewise if he started using any other type of bass, it wouldn't sound just like GL, more like GL playing *bass X* through *amp Y* It's the same with Flea, compare a track off BSSM to a track from Californication and both sound just like Flea but one clearly sounds like him playing a Wal/Musicman and one would clearly sound like him playing a Jazz... etcetc
22. I think I'm pretty much there now, I've done my 10,000 hours and spent a fair bit on lessons too mind, and there are always things I'm interested in for trying to tweak the sound(next up: Sansamp VT because I love the SVT sound) but for the most part I can get the sound in my head on each of my basses through pretty much any amp or PA. Only exception is the U-BASS as it's new technology and there's been no huge pioneers with them yet like there was with the likes of James Jamerson or Jaco on the electric, so in my head I've no idea how I want it to sound, other than like it's me playing it...
23. bump still shipped for £70! Or trade for a decent envelope filter/Sansamp Bass DI
24. Sold my trusty U-BASS Rumbler to John last week, speedy payment and good comms, many thanks!
