1. Ah, this will be my old amp! I bought it brand new from Harmonics Music in Waterloo (Liverpool) around April 2012 and held onto it until my trade with Daz late last year. Fantastic little amp which never let me down, whoever buys this won't be disappointed! GLWTS
2. The irony here is that any signature bass I ever brought out would be based on my Indonesian Squier Standard jazz(redburst, with vintage fender pups, big wilkinson machine heads, threaded saddles, copper strip ground, tug bar and chrome pickup cover a la Marcus Miller). I've owned a tonne of basses since and none come close, it's even got a slimmer neck than my Geddy Lee! Imagine that- Fender making a sig that's based on a Squier... ...I can dream on I guess haha
3. Nightmare! I would leave it, but it might be you find you love them- perhaps try a few electro acoustic basses at your local guitar shop? get an idea for the sound and feel and it'll help you decide if it's for you or not
4. I'd go with rotosound trubass(black nylon coated flats with gold silk), Paul McCartney used them on his Violin for Abbey road and they capture that 60's thump perfectly. Just don't do too many slides as they can get hot to the touch under friction haha
5. Personally I'm not a fan- they're rarely loud enough acoustically to be played without an amp, and yet unless you get a feedback reducer they're very prone to feedback at gig volumes so it's difficult to plug them in too. I'm not a huge fan of the sound plugged in either.... I would only ever use one if it was for cosmetic reasons. That said there are people here who I'm sure love them and will tell you the opposite, so if possible try it out and see what you think
6. Pic in the original post didn't do this beauty justice so here's a few more. You can't see the writing in the photo, but those are Gotoh machine heads
7. 2004 Fender Standard(Mex) Jazz bass, five string model. Comes with a freshly installed set of Rotosound Swingbass strings. Very good condition and a great player with a great sound. One tiny crack on the headstock by the low b tuner but it seems fine and I've covered it in wood glue to be on the safe side. [b]Price drop! Preferably for Fender stuff(guitars too..?), a KALA U-BASS, or a Peavey 15inch cab I could use as an extension for my TNT.
8. I like it, but I'm not sure about the tattoo decals.
9. I own a pair of the V1 model... never had any problems though *touch wood* closest thing we've had to an issue is accidentally pressing the 'timed turnoff' button and wondering why the light wasn't coming on when we powered up. Sorry I can't be more help, hope it's nothing serious like the power amp going or something!
10. I've been after a Spear S-1 for years, real shame they're like rocking horse sh*te over here because they're stunning(I love the hints of Carl Thompson in the cutaway)! Love the S-2's too, especially the exotic wood ones... I'm normally a shameless Fender fanboy(see the variety of basses in my sig haha) but there's something about these S-1 and S-2's that really do it for me. I'd be interested to play a Flextool too.
11. Last bump before I give up pushing to sell this beauty... trades? C'monnnnnn....
12. Last bump before I give up pushing to sell this beauty...
13. Traveled down to London to trade my U-Bass with Laurence earlier; lovely guy and a pleasure to do business with. (Was also a great excuse for me to spend an afternoon lusting after some of the gems down Denmark St ) Many thanks!
14. One of the lads in my uke band plays these. There's a huge uke scene around Merseyside, but save our Mikey the Banjolele is mostly the standby of elderly George Formby lovers. Shame really as I absolutely love the things! It's great how you can properly feel them resonate when you're strumming
15. Hi, is this still available?
16. The design they're based on is the Cavaquinho! There are two versions of that, the original Portuguese one and the Brazilian version. A Carioca friend of mine has one of the latter and it's the most beautiful instrument I've ever seen, though it works in open G tuning so a lot of the chords are a nightmare- it's more suited to lead work- looks and sounds like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwtdCxcLYIE
17.
Assuming it's the weight of the bass on your leg that is the issue can you assist your strap so that it doesn't rest on your leg at all?
This, or at least until enough weight is carried by the strap that it doesn't cause discomfort. Or maybe try a lighter bass? I've been playing U-Basses a lot lately and you don't even notice you're holding them
18. I've no experience with the Peavey but my iRig seems very overpriced for essentially a splitter/adaptor. There's a helluva lot of background noise on mine too. That said if I'm only playing along to a song on Amplitube, it does the job, doesn't seem to have much latency or anything.
19. bump
20.
Are these usa or mex built? How is it for dings knocks etc
Really sorry mate only just seen this(I must've been half asleep and missed the notification), it was Mex built but now gone sorry
21. ON HOLD pending a trade next week
