The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

How about: The Scrumpy Airlight? -
Just been clearing the garage and have a few amps that need a good home. Laney R4H Richter amp head. Prosound 100 PA1700 pa power amp. Aria AB30 bass combo. Meridian PM480 RC 80w? 4 channel mixer/amp. These have been in there a few years so I am classing them as non-working although as far as I can remember they were when they were originally stored (I think the mixer amp was a bit intermittent). Condition is dusty and some of the screws have rusted (although the Prosound is still in it's cardboard box) and I have not tested any of them. I would recommend a thorough check and service for each. Not looking for anything but a donation to a charity like Age Concern or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated. Collection only for these. If you need more details please let me know.

I have friends in the bike trade (pedal) and some major companies are quoting 54 weeks for the delivery of components.

Does anyone have a short-scale bass that balances nicely on the knee? flutiphilus, I have a Harley Benton PB Shorty which I find balances on the knee well with no neck dive. -
Hope everything goes well for you Bluewine. Great set of songs.

I am 64 this year and hope to be doing the odd gig after Covid. The crowds we played to were generally 30+ plus although not exclusively. -
You could try: Northwest Guitars Bass Direct Radiospares CPC/Farnell Then there is Amazon and ebay of course. Not saying they will carry Ibanez ones but you should find something suitable.

I've put my bass through one of our Studiospares Auditorium MkIII 12A pa speakers and it sounded pretty good (at bedroom levels).

Use blu-tac between the speaker and the top of the stand and see how you get on with that, way cheaper than isolation bases. Alternatively use a set of sorbothane feet which are readily available and fairly cheap on Ebay, or even squash balls cut in half. You could also put a granite/marble plinth (use a couple of suitably sized kitchen choping boards) and spike or 'squash ball' them to decouple the base of the stand from the floor.

👍 A hat is the next bit of stage craft I will be employing.

Purchased a Korg Pitchblack from Neil. Excellent communication, prompt delivery and excellent communication. Thanks Neil.

Wilmslow Audio are good. I have built their BBC LS3/5a equivalents and have partly built a pair of their floorstanders. I might be open to discussion on the LS3/5a if you are interested Si600. We did a comparison between 3 sets of speakers at HiFi Wigwam hifi show a few years back, my 'LS3/5a, a pair of BBC LS3.5a and a pair of Rogers 149's. It was an interesting exercise as each had their positives over the other but there were no negatives.

What BassAdder27 says but also consider Barefaced cabs for lightweight and portability. -
